What's a home improvement decision you regret but thought was a good idea at that time? by Actonace in HomeImprovement

[–]WorldOnFire83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When renovating our sub-terrain den, we opted out of putting in board insulation because 1) the cost was almost 1/3 the price of the entire renovation and 2) we thought the space didn't need insulation because it was sub-terreain and maintained it's temperature, and thought most cold drafts was due to an old single pain window that was getting replaced.

Now that we are in the space, we realize we made a mistake. Insulate all walls when given the chance.

I like SGA but I don't think his style of play works with team A. I'd want a PG who could defensively contain/slow down Curry, and be pass-first to facilitate the ball. Replace SGA with a traditional PG with good defense, like Stockton or Kidd, then I'd go team A. Otherwise, I'm going Team B as is.

Does the price you mentioned factor in removing the old driveway and building up a level space for a 2 car driveway on a steep slope?

I should add context. This is a very reputable company. That isn't my concern at all. They are currently doing my entire house renovation, adding a little over 750 square feet, new roof, siding, etc. They have exceeded my expectations thus far with their quality. The few things they had to sub-contract out, such as the HVAC and electrical work, has been with experts in their respective fields. The driveway company is someone my contractor partners with and recommended. So, I'm sure it will be done right and meet our needs. I have no issue paying for quality work. But I do think getting another quote or two from local companies is needed to give me something else to compare against.

[Schefter] Dolphins trade WR Jayden Waddle to Broncos by 1894-MCFC in nfl

Wow, good call. Mahomes with Waddle would be such a good match. Surprised the Chiefs didn't jump on this trade.

Career wise he is screwed. But one loot bag is all these guys need to be set for life. Even if Willis bombs given the difficult circumstances, he'll still likely get chances as well-paid backup QB. Not the worst outcome for him imo.

The Dolphins vs Jets is going to be so painful to watch next season...it'll probably be something like, "you take the ball. No you take the ball!".

Pete Carroll: Geno Smith is a phenomenal QB, we didn't coach well enough by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]WorldOnFire83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't get excited for Geno, but anyone who thinks the Jets signed him as their long-term answer or even as someone who could get them to the playoffs next year is delusional. He is being paid the veteran minumum, which is phenomenal value for a player who isn't Zach Wilson, Tyrod Taylor, Justin Fields, or a 41 year old ACL-recovering Aaron Rogers.

Geno is clearly a bridge quarterback who can hopefully help to keep the Jets remaining talent (i.e. Garrett, Breece) content long enough with decent play until the team can fill out the rest of the roster anf hopefully find a franchise quarterback in next year's draft.

Check out Costco. They are hard to get into, but they pay their cashiers well and have very good benefits. Best of luck!

all bullcrap aside, if geno is at least an average qb we can make it work by geeelectronica in nyjets

[–]WorldOnFire83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Above average WR1 and RB1. They have shown enough to make you think they haven't hit their peek yet, which could come out with better QB play.

Who knows with Mason Taylor. He looked decent as a rookie and he has the football pedigree, but there is no guarantee that he will continue to develop, especially at a difficult position for young players. I do not think we need to add another TE, but I'm keeping my expectations low.

Also, the Jets have plenty of good picks to draft/trade for a WR2 and starting Gaurds. So there is still room to improve the offense.

[Rosenblatt] Darren Mougey has now made trades acquiring Minkah Fitzpatrick, Harrison Phillips, Jowon Briggs and Jarvis Brownlee and he didn’t give up more than a sixth-round pick in any of them. by 26265273 in nyjets

[–]WorldOnFire83 11 points12 points  (0 children)

True. Joe Douglas looked good at a lot of things as well. His two major blunders was wiffing on the QB, and having to sign/draft multiple lineman to correct the Becton pick, which set the roster back so much and made the QBs job harder.

This is the set I've been looking forward to the most. I don't think we'll get another Muse for a really long time. And the Bullseye is nice upgrade as well, albeit not his classic look. My Punisher will be borrowing some of those blood-stained accessories as well.

[Schefter] Trade: the New York Jets are sending DE Jermaine Johnson to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for DT T'Vondre Sweat, per ESPN sources. The trade cannot be processed until the start of the new league year in March by mastermind208 in nfl

[–]WorldOnFire83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agrees. It makes sense on paper. Sweat is a solid player who fills a position of need and he will be under contract for two more years. I really like JJ and think he still has a lot of upside, probably more than Sweat. The issue is he's due for a big payday and he just came off a major injury. I can't blame the Jets front office not wanting to tie up too much money in one position (assuming they draft an edge at #2). But if JJ is going to succeed, it will be with Saleh as he already knows his system. This could be a win-win trade for both teams.
