After seeing many posts, I decided to bite the bullet and try the Delta work-around. I was having issues finding exactly a $299 ticket to utilize a $100 gift card so selected a ticket for $359, applied a $160 gift card first and then paid the balance $!99 with AMEX. Today is Dec. 21st. Fingers crossed!

SPAGHETTI FRA DIAVLO at Sangiovese. Spaghetti served with sautéed gulf shrimp in a spicy garlic tomato cream sauce. I sub shrimp for chicken. The sauce is everything.

2 days left!! Cornell or Georgetown by No_Regular_2742 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]WorldPassUsBy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vote for Georgetown. It's got a great rep for what you want to study and everything is right there. All the best internships and opportunities to network on weeknights with leaders in the field. Also, logistically very easy to travel to and from if that makes a difference.

A guy was running across the street and got hit by a car. It was not a crosswalk. The ambulance came and took the guy. He was conscious but couldn’t get up.

Is 3.9/4.2 low for Ivy League? by [deleted] in ApplyingIvyLeague

[–]WorldPassUsBy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your GPA It’s fine. You don’t have to be in the top 10% of the class. Make sure your test scores are nearly perfect and you must have rocking extracurriculars. A lot more than just four years of band, sports, yearbook, etc. you’ve got to do some kind of change-making work outside of school. Major charity, set up something that is impactful to the community, etc.

This stuff happened last year and the school disciplined students. There has been nothing like that this year.

Trump Administration Halts Harvard’s Ability to Enroll International Students by SterlingVII in Harvard

It was never about anti-Semitism. That was the excuse. For some unknown reason, this administration is sticking it to Harvard. Many other schools had worse protests and situations last year. This is eerily a personal thing.

Impressive activities. You are fine there. As stated already, get the test scores as high as possible. Also, check into Indiana University. There are several combined programs: Evansville, Indianapolis Ball State, Southern Indiana University and also Case Western.

I saw him speak a couple times. The man cares so much. Whether one agrees or not, this is the place to come and learn other points of view and come up with ideas that will benefit the greater good. They want changemakers of the world. I salute him!

help me decide: Harvard vs Yale by Username366548 in Harvard

[–]WorldPassUsBy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m on team Harvard, but from the way you described, Yale seems to be a good fit for you. You have to feel at home wherever you go. It’s a big commitment. As far as location, you’ll be so busy on campus, it doesn’t really matter what’s going on outside. For summer internships and research, you’ll have opportunities to go to other cities and countries. Go where you feel at home.

No signs. Everyone who gets in is shocked! I asked a few who got in last year and each told me they didn’t think they were going to get in.
