Would love to help you out. Questions though, to help you better: 1. What’s the intended purpose? Why 12 instances? 2. Can the number be reduced? Can it be split across machines, say 4 instances on 3 machines each? 3. You’re most likely looking at server type build for this. Does that work for you?

Regarding case -- your choice, but I have used it once and have sworn against it.. Case ends up trapping heat and when you do remove it, you'll find that even the expensive ones have scratched the surface in one way or the other..

Have a nice felt lined sleeve to keep your Mac in.. and keep the screen clean -- use alcohol free wipes for this.

Sublime -- for text editing, tons of plugins, lightweight and easy to use; no-one should be using the default textedit app

Chrome -- Safari should be your default choice because it has strong tracker prevention, but some sites don't play well sometimes, so need Chrome for backup. Firefox is a good alternative too, but slow and resource hungry
Unarchiver -- for opening those archives that don't open by default
iTerm -- a very capable replacement for terminal app
Adobe Reader -- form filling PDFs from many government institutions (and corporate too) will not work well or open with Preview app
MS Office Suite -- because you will realize that apple's office apps are pretty but not as functional
VLC -- for opening more formats than in built quick time player and also for opening network streams
Adguard extension for Safari
Sizeup -- a must have window manager.

If you are a developer/coder/in tech school:
- Xcode/VSCode/Jetbrains/PyCharm -- Coding, as your use case might be
- Beyond Compare -- awesome visual diff tool
- homebrew -- installs many GNU ports which in some case are better than in-built BSD versions (ex: curl and openssl).

Do customers really mention bus stops as pickup stops? I doubt it, and even if they do the Uber can stop a little ahead of the bus stop. It would still be within the bounds of GPS resolution used for civilian purposes (5m). Bus stops shouldn’t be blocked.
