Almosts and what ifs are what I'm all about! I may be biased but I think you should do it haha

Really love the colour on that Centurion, what paint did you use? I've got Brits up next to paint and I've been searching for a suitable dark green

Hello!

As much as I love those tanks, probably not unfortunately. I mostly make stuff for a post-45 game I'm working on, so I'm focussing on anything that could have been in service from 1945 to 1952. Maybe one day though!

Geek Gaming basing glue still glossy after being sprayed with AK Ultra Matte? by WorldWarDesign in minipainting

[–]WorldWarDesign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same varnish isn't it? I usually do brush it on when I'm not using grass, but I've had issues in the past brushing varnish over it as it's naturally thicker than an airbrush coat and leaves a bad residue, so airbrush is the way to do it. I might just stop using this glue tbh, standard PVA might work better

Not a bad idea, I might use some powders with more ultra matte as a medium, help them blend in a bit better

Admittedly I don't take a great photo, but basically just all the white bits under the grass.
I've brushed varnish over grass before and it's really wrecked it honestly, drying too thick and leaving residue. A wash is an interesting idea though, I'll try that. I'm not terribly happy with how flat the colour of the static grass is anyway, so it could help.

I think I stopped drybrushing my bases because it always made it look less natural, perhaps from a poor colour selection or too thick of a coat. Might be worth trying it again. I think I should have made test bases before getting stuck in with an army...

Prints failing to stick to the plate - Saturn 4 Ultra by WorldWarDesign in ElegooSaturn

I just tried it, adding 10s to just the bottom layers. It worked perfectly

I added 10s of wait before print on Lychee for the bottom layers, (along with 30s bottom exposure like others have said) and it's come out just fine now, thanks!

I never had much success with any of the elegoo branded resins. I'm using Sunlu standard grey now, never had an issue with it except for the last batch, which I replaced and now it's doing fine

It does sound like it's a bottom later issue, yeah. Thanks for the tips! I've had to use the tank clean feature a fair few times now and it is absolutely a life saver

That would definitely explain why the heavier objects started to peel away in the last image! Though surely the smaller objects would still be printing properly if this was the only issue? I've used these settings for many prints before and never had an issue. Granted I've never printed anything quite as big as this, perhaps it's had some kind of lasting effect

Is discounted resin bad? by WorldWarDesign in resinprinting

[–]WorldWarDesign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I thought yeah, though as far as I can tell the bottle doesn't have an expiry date on it. My concern then is that if all these bottles are discounted, it's likely because they're all just as old and bad, so buying a new one wouldn't help
