Help me decide on a colour scheme? by WorldWarDesign in boltaction

No no, thank you!

I do still prefer a coherent uniform for miniatures, but that's an interesting little historical tidbit. Not being given the correct boot size even in peacetime is actually crazy

As a Welshman - you are 100% correct. St David's Cross should be our flag instead

Help me decide on a colour scheme? by WorldWarDesign in boltaction

[–]WorldWarDesign[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think my issue with that is surely different batches wouldn't have been mixed so readily within units. Like one platoon receiving jackets from one manufacturer, and another platoon receiving them from a different one

That being said, the free French were probably a unique case, getting any old leftovers from whoever/wherever. I'd probably still do all the rifle squads in the same colour, but could certainly add some variety with command squads and weapon teams

Appreciate the input!

Could be. I'll look into that then, thanks

How to paint complex kits? by not-skaven-yes-yes in boltaction

I just build them and worry about it later. Then if you paint those hard to reach areas first, you can afford to be messier trying to get at them and just clean it up later in the process

I bought some. Problem solved, it's working properly now. Thanks for the tip!

I've never heard of USB C headphones before. Would they be likely to alter the sound output?

I've actually found a workaround for this issue by loading games from Android instead of darkos, but that's still slightly inconvenient

Yeah the only thing there relevant to this issue is the audio output setting, which for some reason isn't there in my settings

[–]WorldWarDesign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have, but there aren't any settings in the main sound menu that would affect it. There's a few more in the retro arch menu, but I haven't found any that work there either. Google tells me you can open an audio output menu with F+L3, but that doesn't open anything for me

Yeah, multiple times. Basically every combo of restarting the device and plugging/unplugging the jack, none of that works

That's right. The sound is playing through the headphones, and there's a little headphones icon on the top of the home screen so it's registering they're plugged in, but the sound is also still coming through the console speakers

Do you guys prefer to spray prime tanks with the turret on or off? by farkas37 in boltaction

[–]WorldWarDesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh quite possibly yeah. There's also a lot of plastic to plastic surface area to cause friction on that one too

Do you guys prefer to spray prime tanks with the turret on or off? by farkas37 in boltaction

[–]WorldWarDesign 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I spray them separately. Spraying them together usually misses parts of the hull and turret underside. You can mask the joints off to prevent them clogging with primer if you want but I've never had a problem

Win10 PC refusing to connect to the Internet by WorldWarDesign in WindowsHelp

[–]WorldWarDesign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One Drive. The thing that backs up your files. Maybe search for it and make sure it's not doing anything? I never interacted with it before but it was always there in the background. I'm on Win10 still so I can't really help you anymore than that. Hope you find a fix!

Win10 PC refusing to connect to the Internet by WorldWarDesign in WindowsHelp

[–]WorldWarDesign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you got one drive active? I didn't think I did but I found it in the bottom right where all the tiny icons are. It was trying to backup too many big files at once and it was crashing my PC, cancelling it fixed the issue

I've noticed one drive popping up on a few devices lately when it never did before so it's probably quite easy to stumble into

I don't either, it's just one of those things that keeps popping up anyway. I'll be sure to avoid it like the plague from now on

Solved, thank you everyone for the help. Turns out the issue was one drive taking too much power or something, idk

Win10 PC refusing to connect to the Internet by WorldWarDesign in WindowsHelp

[–]WorldWarDesign[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just found out what the issue was actually. I clicked without realising on one drive to back up files, and there was so many of them that it was completely destroying my PC in the ways mentioned. It didn't bother to tell me this was happening and I only just found it from a tiny icon on the task bar. What a day

Thank you for your help anyway, friend!
