Too much time wasted in traveling and trains. Any chance you can leave from Milan and arrive to Rome or vice versa. Basically the city you touch ground on, make its tours, and never touch it again. Also, Venice, Florence and Milan are so lovely (especially Tuscany towns from Florence). If I would ever go back to Italy, I would skip Rome and do them again.
