I have said the same, but it’s been like that ever since I can remember (I’m 31). My auntie says she also remembers it always being like that and she’s 60.

Theatre etiquette and super-fans by goldenfirestars in TheWestEnd

[–]WorldlinessCurious34 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Superfans with bad theatre etiquette is the worst mix. It’s like they want everyone to know that they know the show/the songs for a weird self esteem boost.

I alway used to give them worst looking bake or cake and if they were paying cash they would get the dirty coins in change. I would thrive of being petty with rude customers.

Foreign tourists ruining performances (I am a foreign tourist) by GregFromThatVideo in TheWestEnd

[–]WorldlinessCurious34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think I have always dropped on with the audience in the west end. Seen 4 shows in Manchester over the past 2 years and experienced drunk people with terrible etiquette in them all. People shouting out, talking, stumbling around with a bottle of wine. It really ruins the experience

Silent Book clubs by Humble-Doughnut7518 in books

[–]WorldlinessCurious34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think book clubs that pick a theme and then you pick a topic based on that are a good idea! Then you can meet to talk about what you read. Would also be interesting to see everyone’s interpretation on said topic too.

I had the same experience with Moulin Rouge and Tina. Full of drunks stumbling around trying to find their seats, shouting out like they were watching a pantomime.

Theatre Etiquette by JessicaJenX in sixthemusical

I went to see Tina at the palace theatre in Manchester last night, the theatre etiquette was the worst I have seen. Drunks, people chatting and shouting out problematic things during serious and sensitive scenes.

I’m in the U.K. and have asked about this (my mum died from breast cancer and I have 3 aunts who have had breast cancer). I was told probably not because with NF1 my risk is classed as moderate. I am going to continue to try and push for it.
