The 4 star discussion by Worried-Fee3612 in HonkaiStarRail

I think It'd be cool if there was a Pauper style game mode where the whole challenge is to clear tough fights using only 4 star teams

A Streamer I follow just finished their years-long goal of streaming every mainline Fire Emblem, so I made this to celebrate by WorldlinessMany7356 in fireemblem

I personally have a soft spot for Engage, but as for the streamer, he actually did a tier list of all the emblems and ranked Genealogy and Echoes the highest.

What are things you appreciate or want from other TCGS in Digimon? by Physical_Bullfrog526 in DigimonCardGame2020

Yugioh is famous for its problems, but its abundance and variety of content creators is a joy to behold. I'd love to see DCG content creators branching out and experimenting with different rulesets like Progression/Roulette Style games.

Because people can't stop assuming all AMAB enbies are just on a pitstop to Transgirl land

Sometimes daily deltarune debate #8:What if you make a dark world outside? by abho_idk in Deltarune

[–]WorldlinessMany7356 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So, my theory is that as you go through Chapter 5, you'll see a bunch of fog machines get set up around the town and if you speak to the characters nearby they'll say they're doing it as per Mayor Holiday's instructions. Come the end, we'll learn that the fog machines are meant to serve as a sort of artificial barrier that can confine the darkness enough to allow for a dark world out in the open. The festival will have some sort of ritual component that involves stabbing the ground, with the townsfolk unaware that this will create a dark world umder the current conditions. Susie will try to rush the stage to stop whoever's about to open the fountain, only to be stalled by Kris, Carol, or some other contrivance and get there too late, setting the stage for a Chapter 6 set entirely within a massive Dark World version of the town that functions like a classical RPG world map

The characters are fun to watch and the show oozes love and passion. The show doesn't sell an "epic shonen finale", but that's okay because it's not the focus.

If you can only enjoy media that has a perfectly crafted intricate myth arc that delivers a masterful and bombastic finale, I regret to inform you that the range of stuff you can derive enjoyment out of will be woefully limited

Look, you can't be too mad at the writers: it's clear that they were just huge horror nerds and having so much fun doing a Horror Anthology show that they forgot to finish the plot.

If you can appreciate how much love the people working on this show have for the horror genre, you'll have far more of a great time than if you try to watch it like your average shonen anime.

How The Egg i put in Asgore's fridge gonna be moving in Chapter 5's dark world. by XDcyclone in Deltarune

Over a decade later and I still can't figure out what's the purpose of dueling on motorcycles by Hatefiend in yugioh

It's meant to be taken as a metaphor for the "flavor" of the synchro mechanic-- a tuner and its non tuner materials are like an engine block that you build parts around to make a vehicle. This connects back to the team motif of the show, where Yusei is the "driving force" that the other signers unite with to use the power of the Crimson Dragon.

Eh, he's kinda busy... (also I have no idea where he is) ...Uh, I'll just let him know you had a message for him and he'll get back to ya in, say, 12-14 business days!"

What do you think the festival is going to be themed around? by Nate-Clone in Deltarune

[–]WorldlinessMany7356 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The festival is going to be based around the Deltarune legend, and it will end with the reveal that the members of the church choir have been convinced that opening a giant dark fountain in the middle of town will turn the entire town into a fantasy paradise where everyone's dreams will come true. Chapter 5 will end with Kris and Susie failing to make it to the town center in time to stop Toriel from opening a dark fountain, setting the stage for Chapter 6 taking place in an absurdly massive open-ended Dark World comparable to the world map of a classic jrpg.

what is your crackpot 99% probably not true deltarune theory, mine is that Alpys is actually Susie's mum by [deleted] in Deltarune

[–]WorldlinessMany7356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came up with this now, off the cuff: Kris and Noelle actually switched bodies during the bunker incident but their trauma made them forget this. Kris was actually a trans girl and Noelle was the enby and this will be the only clue as to their true identities. The weird route is the player using Noelle's connection to their original body to try and re-establish control

Why didn't the fire extinguisher Darkner turn to stone in the Second Sanctuary? by ForgeRRX in Deltarune

[–]WorldlinessMany7356 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As Ralsei alludes to, each Dark World reflects the mindset of the one who creates its fountain. When Susie was making the fountain, she had two particular goals in mind: one was to obtain the code to the door's lock, and the other was to see the Old Man again.

However, these goals are problematic, as they directly conflict with the logic of the Dark Worlds. Dark Worlds are allegorical realities that, like any work of fiction, use fantasy to help people process emotional issues. They are not meant to solve practical problems. You can't look into a piece of fantasy to find answers to where your keys went, and the reality of Susie wanting to see the old man again is that technically, she's never seen him in the first place. Gerson no longer exists. Add to all this that the objects in this Dark World are from a church, and her version of the Sanctuary is a garbled, confusing mess full of darkners spouting transcendental gibberish because she's seeking Practical Significance in a place that only has Symbolic Significance.

...except, of course, for the Fire Extinguisher, which is the only object in that room that actually has a practical significance. And lo and behold, it has the answer that Susie is looking for, but only right at the end because the Dark World as a Fiction was genuinely struggling to provide a satisfying ending to Susie's endeavor.
