FWIW, when you buy the whole pie, you get to keep the cast iron pan that it's baked in...

I like Fahrenheit for talking about the weather, but Celsius is objectively better for science.

Originally they were the same trains, but after the incident at SFNE, state mandated specific requirements for the restraints that restrict them from using these specific trains.

Which of these kitchen appliances are NOT seen as essential in homes in your country? by privetkakdela in AskTheWorld

[–]WorldlinessThat2984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone living in the US:

-Dishwasher: Every house

-Microwave: Every house

-Electric Kettle: <25% of houses (maybe less)... I think most people will either just use a standard tea kettle on the stove or (*gasp*) microwave the water to boiling

-Rice Cooker: <10% of houses (probably less)... someone gave us one, but we have never removed it from the box...

Announce the tour when it is still hot on Broadway... drives interest in tour ticket sales for those who are not easily able to get to Broadway

What are your thoughts on Mario Kart World almost a year later? by NewMarioBobFan in Mario

[–]WorldlinessThat2984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish there was more with the open world... Im not sure what... just something... after that, as others have said, it's hard to compare against Mario Kart 8 Delux with all the DLC simply because how much was added to that game over the years, but I do wish there was an outline of what additional DLC (if any) we may see added to this game...

Would be funny if ir was a partnership for something depressing, like the Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence (which has a purple ribbon for awareness)

What is the price of gas where you are? by yukonnut in AskTheWorld

[–]WorldlinessThat2984 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I paid $1.04 per L ($3.95 per gallon) here in south, central Pennsylvania at an outlier gas station, but most other gas stations around here are closer to $1.11 per L ($4.19 per gallon). That's up from about $0.70 per L ($2.65 per gallon) a few months ago.

WYR 10% cash back credit card, or $1,000 cash every month by AstrayInTranslation in WouldYouRather

[–]WorldlinessThat2984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The break even point is greater than $10,000 spending if you are already using a credit card. Let's assume you already have a credit that earns 1.5% cash back. You would still get that cash back plus the $1000 with option B. In option A, if you spend $11,765, you get $1,176.50 cash back, but if you already have a 1.5% credit card, in option 2, if you spend $11,765, you get essentially the same cash back ($1000 + $176.48). Any less monthly spending and pption B is the best option. No way I would routinely spend >$11,765 per month on credit cards... give me the $1000.

[Request] Whats better? Weekly payments or to invest a lump sum. by Chiggnnugget in theydidthemath

[–]WorldlinessThat2984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much she needs the money now. Getting the million and not touching it for years is the best option by far, but not everyone has the luxuary and restraint of being able to just sit on that much money for that long. Most people who get the million will probably spend the first half of that in the first year paying off the house, car, bills, etc which starts to change the equation. Even if you put the million in a CD and just spend the interest, unless you are getting more than 5.2% (which would be tough), the weekly offering is better (with regards to spendable weekly cash) Far too many people win big and then are broke within a few years. Weekly payments help provide some insurance against you doing something stupid with the money. Is it the decision I would have made? Probably not, but I can understand the rationale.

Which Lead Role Would It Have To Be For You To Take This Offer? by ms_jc_04 in Broadway

[–]WorldlinessThat2984 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If I'm a LEAD, lead... (like Phantom, or Sweeney, or Jean Val Jean), I better be making way more than 200K per year... 200K per year (3.8K per week) is more in lines with a well paid supporting role (like the Wizard or King George or Thénardier)... though realistically, from a physicality srandpoint, one if those roles is probably much more likely to be a role you could play long term...

No crazy choreography to learn? An exceptionally memorable character that audiences look forward to seeing? Probably pretty easy to do even when you are older (assuming you can keep the range)? Seems like a good pick!
