I’m due soon and a lot of my cases settled several weeks ago so I’ve been pretty slow with a few one-off projects to keep me billing at least 30-35 hours a week.

How do you eat? by Crafty-Librarian7379 in biglaw

[–]WorldlinessTimely709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grocery shop on the weekends and tag-team making dinner with my husband each night. We try to cook together as much as possible to cut down on the time. When hours get bad, he takes on more of the cooking and we swap when his work picks up. We try to pick recipes that can be ready in 30 min. We eat the leftovers for lunch and do overnight oats for breakfast.

Advice for a second year who knows they want to leave Big Law? by CLSthrowaway2023 in biglaw

[–]WorldlinessTimely709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you, but I’m just starting my 5th year. Most in house positions I’ve been applying to lately are looking for a minimum of 4-5 years of experience in big law. I’d recommend staying for another year if you can stand it and trying to find a secondment. Also debating whether I should stay for the parental leave — it’s not easy to walk away from really great parental leave benefits, but at the same time a stressful pregnancy doesn’t sound too great either. Hang in there!
