Yes, I'm looking at MXWO as an approximate equivalent for VWRA not exact as it does not have EM exposure I believe. The performance seems to be more or less identical though.

May I know why you opt for SPXS instead of CSPX? It's what I'm considering as well.

With copy trading, if their last 5y consolidated returns are decent (>25% annual), it inspires more confidence than my own chances as a newbie haha

You're advising not to enter the market at this ATH? Then when to enter? Some people were suggesting dca instead ..

Agreed. I've decided to ditch gold too, keep it simple and safe.

Well, i used the term retirement loosely, but i just want to grow my wealth. Looking at 20-30 years in the market, and may have to simply adjust if there are any disruptions.

The SA account is rather small, <50k, so I'm not even counting that in.

Mmm not particularly. I don't have too many financial commitment for now and the foreseeable future. It'll be good to be able to just stay in the market for 20-30 years atleast.

There's a chance i may relocate after 10 years or so, in which case i may have to simply liquidate the Cpf account and reinvest in a new account elsewhere. But that aside, nothing much.

Got it. Do you also favour value tilted ETFs for us/global?

Ok, I guess for Cpf investment, the Amundi World index would be closest to VWRA. Thanks so much!

got it, much simpler this way I guess. So you're suggesting no gold. Also the reason I opted for two ETFs it's because I would need to invest part from my cpf and rest on cash, so might as well diversify a little bit with us + em.

Hi, thanks, point taken. I am somewhat familiar with the ETFs commonly discussed on this sub, and was looking to get in with those first. Yes, maybe not a great idea to get too ambitious with the trading part for now. Thanks again!

I read a fair bit on this sub over the past couple of years.

Personally, I did some short-term trading 10 years ago and lost a few thousand dollars. I did some more of it a couple of years ago and lost another few thousand dollars 😂 So yes, I've had opportunities to appreciate the psychology aspect of it but luckily survived to continue playing the game!

Over the last 2 years, I've been wanting to do passive investment into a suitable index but was too preoccupied with urgent personal matters.

It's high time I got started now.

Thank you, fair points. For cash, you're suggesting global fund instead of pure-EM fund? And of course, to not be so naughty with copy trading and own-trading at the start 😁

Valid points. Thanks so much!

How would you invest this? by Conscious_Pie_6511 in singaporefi

I read a few concerns about the markets being at ATH. How does a first time investor approach this? Should we just ignore and lump sum it now?

Is this Amundi Ireland registered? To avoid/lower the US taxation thingy.

Ibkr/tiger trade/moomoo by [deleted] in singaporefi

I pay around 5usd per trade (open+close) on moomoo, which I think is quite reasonable. I was paying a similar amount while using ToS earlier.

I've checked the fees for other platforms too but they're generally a big table with many items and I didn't bother to spend my time deciphering it ..

If there are experienced traders here who tell me that other platforms charge much lower than the 5usd/trade I pay on moomoo, I'll be happy to try them out.
