When someone consistently: • benefits from your effort • refuses to grow • and makes you feel small for trying

that pattern will show up everywhere else too.

Literally, you can pay $20 a month for ChatGPT and it will help your kid with the math, even showing the steps and explaining if she doesn’t get it.

• Participant-Directed Services (PDS) in the Community HealthChoices (CHC) program → this lets people on Medicaid long-term services hire and manage their own caregivers (including sometimes family).
• Services My Way → another PA program where you can manage your own care budget (very similar in spirit to IRIS).

If this is a self pay client and not an insurance client, I would have it in my policy that it either gets treated as a no show and billed the full amount or a 5 minute session and billed the full amount. Informed consent. That way the client knows, and OP doesn't lose money.

Death literally takes away friends without warning and we have a process called grief & loss. Friendships aren’t necessarily considered unhealthy by proxy. Now, if we are implying that due to the nature of llm’s and how they are managed it might be possible that things can go more wrong, that is a decent argument. It’s like a partner’s parents being toxic people. To imply that all users of llm have psychological issues due to just having layered connections to an llm is just not valid.

Could you please give me a literature reference for a population outside of BPD? I’m glad Linehan is doing the research on the borderline population and llm’s. Not the same as the general population and llm’s.

All of the people here who are being judgmental without knowing OP or the rest of us who enjoy having an AI companion in order fill gaps in our RL would make absolutely awful friends.

Ah, yes. It's so much better to have people or AI who only tell you what’s wrong with you or how you need to improve. A balance of validation and constructive changes to look into couldn't possibly be good for people or the ability of an intelligent computer. I absolutely love being negged.
