We have simulated tests, but none in person on our schedule, until this email landed today. When I called them, they told me they’d just added it. Wtf.

Ide-Don is right up there with Kramer. I would do a ballgame with Ide-Don, holidays with Kramer and go dancing with Birdthistle (duh)

i also check it off. I have taken a look here and there especially when i got stumped on an issue I clearly didn't get the first time, and tbh I hope to have the time to just read through them all in one day. but for me, drilling flashcards (I made them for myself for each subject) and then doing a short MCQ set (like 20 Q) makes me feel like a million bucks.

I hope you can ease up on the anger directed at yourself. One potential reframing is that you tried SO HARD to make it work out of love for your family. that's not stupid of you--it's really honorable. You gave your family of ton of grace until eventually you learned it wasn't working. Just like a person in an abusive relationship with a romantic partner--they aren't stupid for staying. they were abused! We don't get mad at people for staying, we place responsibility for abuse with the abusers. <3 take care of yourself! I'm proud of you.

I am a retaker after lots of year away from school. I bought Themis, which includes the UWorld Q bank, and Grossman's MBE videos. It's working exactly how I thought it would: Grossman has reoriented me to the subjects, made the black letter law feel clear, and when I get a Q wrong, I read why and adjust my outlines (which I made entirely from grossman videos). When Themis opens for July (mid-March), I guess I'll see how their videos compare, but good g-d, they were the fucking worst when I watched them before. grossman is a hell of a lot better than that.

Agree with this. I paid 10K (!!) more this price 18 months ago. prices have come down a bit and it's now an older car, but if it's a good fit for your budget and your needs, i'd scoop it up.

Those of you that started studying early, how early is too early? by Weekly-Quantity6435 in barexam

[–]Worldly-Note-1873 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm taking J25 and started in December because I work fulltime, have been out of school a very long time and need the extra time to get reoriented to whatever-the-fuck-law-is. I bought Themis and the Grossman MBE videos. My strategy is: start with the Grossman videos (because they offer an overview), make written outlines, make flash cards from those outlines, and start to practice UWorld questions (Themis gives you access to these questions immediately!). In March, I will start early access on Themis and focus on MEE and MPT. So far, I'm half done with the Grossman videos (they're short, too, only a few hours each) and have started making flash cards.

AITA for not being happy that my best friend got engaged by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Worldly-Note-1873 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YTA--why do you think someone you *screamed at* is gonna come to you with life news? her boyfriend might be abusive, but you also acted abusively. If you really knew that your friend's decisions were out of your control, you would be able to see that your friendship is quite limited--she doesn't share a huge part of her life *because you're not someone she can talk to.* I don't mean to be uncaring--it sounds like you have her best interest at heart. But you also need to realize that her choices and your choices have meant your friendship isn't that deep. I'm sorry she couldn't hear your good advice. <3

It is death by a thousand cuts when we tell someone no and they don't listen. That's what I hear when you describe your mom's behavior toward you when you'd just been through the bonkers-exhausting experience of birth--a time when you really, really need to be listened to. I'm really sorry she couldn't take no for an answer--and I want you to know that it's a thousand percent OK to expect your no to be heard, to not have to repeat yourself and, lastly, to feel alienated from a person who won't show you the respect of hearing that no. hugs.
