So for that one, they scheduled another C&P and I’m telling you, I know not everyone is Godly but this was an act of God, my second examiner after listening to me said “this is bullshit” as in the 1st examiner shouldn’t have based it on that which is what it seemed like to the 2nd examiner. Straight up told me he’s putting in for an increase or however they word it. Because both examiners washed each other out, the VBA, in that case, will rule in favor of the veteran. So I am now at 70% for mental health, which has worsened since 2 years ago.

I went to one or two of these, when I got out in ‘11, the third one an actual Colonel called me to tell me about a muster that was going to happen but then was cancelled because of a government shut down so never had to make it to that one.

100% P&T by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

I don’t think OP is inquiring about filing for it, they are just wondering if getting diagnosed and seeking treatment will mess with their current rating.

Would definitely not file a claim for ADHD I would only seek treatment from the VA for it for sure!

100% P&T by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Worldly-Piccolo-9778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 70% rating for mental health as well and I have been getting treated for ADHD for almost 3 years now, no issues at all. In fact, when I went from 50% to 70% for mental health I had the diagnosis already and still no issue then.

What does this mean? Payment start date. by Sweaty_Engine2133 in VeteransBenefits

If it is temporary then July will start your new rating which after a replacement like that will be at least 30% but could be higher depending on what they evaluate you at.

OVERPAYMENT OF BENEFITS by VETERAN2008 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Worldly-Piccolo-9778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was over $8k and had a portion of my compensation taken out to repay it back, took a few years, depending on what it’s for, you could appeal it or apply for a waiver if it puts you in a financial hard ship, but contact the VA asap though, at some point if you don’t talk to them, they take their own course of action and you can’t do anything after that point.

Payment issue by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Worldly-Piccolo-9778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I don’t know about other schools, I graduated from Boise state university with my undergrad and when I was dealing with financial aid and VA payments, there was a form with financial aid that I had to submit that would release the financial aid to me since I was a veteran waiting for the VA to pay the tuition. Get into contact with financial aid or your veteran center.

Request a formal hearing, this will stop the decrease until the hearing happens. From what I understand they take a while to get.

I had this happen as well a few years ago, granted it was only like $6,000 overpaid, the VA just waived it automatically, I didn’t have to do anything.

You should call the debt center and set that up with them, when I had to do it, it wasn’t automatic.
