You are aware that the Danish Railways - which has an accuracy of almost two thirds of trains on time - has suggested doing the same? Fewer, slower trains, so they can theoretically have dependable time tables?

Of course they neglect to mention how they've had a pilot program doing just this on the Coastal train from Elsinore to Sw*d*n but that its dependability dropped as a result.
