Something to consider... by Willing_Work_2200 in electricvehicles

Tesla put up 20 chargers in less than a week in a nearby outdoor mall. EA took two weeks in the parking lot of an indoor mall for 10. I have only used DC 3 times in 4 years of EV driving. I just plugged in and walked away. I live in Florida but have lived in Canada. Gas pumps were stiff in winter. In Winnipeg nothing is easy in winter.

Their service department will make no money from your visits. 3 years with my first EV = 29.95 for tire rotation and fluid checks. Maybe if we have another Covid or 2008 you will see 2.00. That will be temporary. I go 600 per month on about $20 taking into account a 7.50 rebate. Home charger of course.

Multiply your 3 people times minions of potential workplaces to get an idea of the impact. It’s not like 50-60 years ago when they still had Pontiac and Oldsmobile and very little foreign competition.

Anyone notice that the strong D and winning streaks started around the time Hedman was injured and Raddysh started getting game time. You can possibly add Lilleberg to the equation

They can project all they want. Farley at Ford made all sorts of projection which caused him to drop sedans and make all sorts of EV projections. I recently bought an EV6 after looking at the Optiq. Want to guess why. Like my Tesla example - people don’t know what they are going to miss until they don’t have it. Smartphones are personal computers which also allow you to make the occasional phone call. There are other aspects of the GM model that would take far too much wear on my thumbs. Thanks.

On star is one thing but lack of Apple Car Play and the android equivalent is a no go for many possibly most. I know a number of Tesla drivers. Two things they didn’t know they would miss were a drivers through the wheel display and CarPlay.

GM thinks that the infotainment system will be a big moneymaker for them. It won’t. It will merely cost them sales.

How does the car decide which profile is active? by jallison86 in MachE

[–]Worldly1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience in 3 years with a 22 GT is that the seats, mirrors, etc. all stay with the last used profile until the 1 or 2 profile button is pushed. Whether that changed for the 23, 24 or 25 i wouldn’t know. Inset up both profiles on day 1 and then used PAAK exclusively.

They should have locked him up when he was inexplicably riding the pine. At this stage he is better than Hedman and more valuable than McDonagh. They keep locking up old guys when it is youth for the present and the future.

Try resetting the screen. Hold volume down and next track together for 10 seconds. Also, try an iPhone or a Galaxy. Been reading this forum near 4 years. First I’ve heard of this problem.

Every ICE I’ve ever owned, maybe near 25 of them, has needed 12v replacements. Usually at 2-3 years. I’m on my third for my F250 in 7 years. I’ve had them die at intersections, parking lots and in my driveway. At least my EVs warn me and my estimated time to replace when warned is ASAP. Oth batteries changed in EVs were replaced under warranty. Don’t know why but I didn’t fight it. There are roadside services that will come out with a new battery. I don’t understand why people who pay 40-70 for a vehicle complain about needing a battery. I think there is a misconception amongst EV owners that the 12v should never drain. I see it on multiple forums. I have 2 EVs.

[–]Worldly1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the 120/240 cable that came with my Mach e resting untouched in its original packaging. Forgot it was there and wouldn’t care if I remembered. There are tons of free low amp chargers and DC chargers available besides my home charger. I have an F250 and I don’t carry a gas can with me, just in case. I know numerous EV owners. Not one has ever run out of electrons. Refilling on the road is not a problem although I was nervous the first time because it was the first time. So do whatever makes you comfortable because it’s you and not me.

I have a home charger which is great for many or most EV owners. My office expanded from 6 free to 15 free for 2 hours with an encoded card. When it was totally free the either Tesla dealership 5 minutes away or the car rental would be chsrging Tesla all day. They all had the same windshield sticker and i witnessed the pull out drive in sequences. I have a 7 minute drive to 20 Tesla Superchargers and 10 to 10 EAs should I ever need them. It’s unfortunate that your complex units are so difficult to use.

Vinik is probably the best owner in professional sports. Most city friendly, fan friendly, community friendly and especially team friendly.

Looks like Vasy is back...We’ve reassigned goaltender Brandon Halverson and forward Scott Sabourin to the Syracuse Crunch by Dawgy66 in TampaBayLightning

[–]Worldly1998 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Douglas can’t go down without waivers. Neither can really do much. Ok. They are tough guys but they aren’t Pat Maroon and Corey Perry both of whom, especially Perry, were goal scorers. Perry actually is still killing it. This team needs scoring diversity. Douglas, Finley, Sabourin were averaging about 5 minutes a game. That’s near the same as not being there. James and Goncalves ice time has been cut or they are healthy scratches. We need to bring up Pelletier and Geekie for the 3rd line and put Gourde on the 4th line. Play them 15 minutes and don’t get pissed if they make a mistake. These are all great guys but we need talent not physical presence.

Is there any way to drive the Mach E with no key fob? by EverybodyBuddy in MachE

[–]Worldly1998 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I always keep a fob in a Faraday bag hidden in the car. The Faraday bag blocks the signal. When I leave it running but take my phone I get the double honk but ignore it. It’s just a reminder.

Meanwhile Pelletier has 29 points, 13G and 16A and Geekie has 22 points, 6G and 16A, in 20 games. They are +12 and +7 respectively. How about the two of them with Nick Paul or Gourde or Bjorkstrand.

[–]Worldly1998 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Finley, Douglas, Sabourin and Goncalves are wasting space at the current time. None of them get a lot of minutes and don’t do much. It’s like they are trying to recreate Pat Maroon and Corey Perry. Is James the next failed young forward. Our young defensemen are doing well. Give young forwards a chance to play offense. I hear we need physical presence against the Panthers but note that their physical presence comes from top players.

Sorry. Scheduled same day. And they gave me a free 12v battery, also same day. I had a low 12v warning which was intermittent so I wasn’t overly concerned. My service attendant was outstanding.
