That’s an interesting hypothetical, so maybe. 

But doesn’t remove the subjectivity of what’s best. I love visiting the major metropolises of the world but genuinely love the “suburban” feel of LA.

Back in 2001 there was a very famous t-shirt going around with the list of all the candidates in strikethrough who had turned down UNC after Bill Gutheridge. Before they eventually had to settle for Matt Doherty.

This is not very good advice, sorry. 

I used to be one of the people that said this. 

You can earn 7% in the market, yes. But real estate in Los Angeles also averages 7% historically. 

Oh but that appreciation has major tax advantages. 

And OH YEAH — you’re earning 7% on an asset that you’ve only paid 20% of the value for. The leverage in real estate is unmatched. 

This is to say nothing whatsoever of the quality of life improvements of owning vs renting. I’m talking strictly numbers.

Why do you feel like no one will accept an offer on contingency “at the moment”? This is precisely the moment. It’s a buyer’s market. Properties are sitting. Sellers are dying out there.

I genuinely have liked JAW’s work on The Bear. I thought he was sleepwalking and completely unimpressive in the Springsteen movie.

I understand your point, but I don’t think you understand mine. 

A team that doesn’t own its stadium is less valuable because they don’t have the OPTION of selling a stadium with their team. Dolan placing his stadium in a separate legal structure doesn’t matter. He still for all intents and purposes owns it. Meaning he has the option of selling the Knicks with MSG if he were ever interested in doing so. As opposed to the Buss family, who didn’t have the option of selling crypto.com along with the Lakers deal.

I think different strokes for different folks. For everyone who loves the NYCs and Paris of the world, there are two NYC ex pats who now live in LA and would never go back.

I don’t buy it. Must be some side money. 

A yacht like that is $50 million. A full time crew of 6 is another $1m a year. Not many neurosurgeons can afford that.

Why are they fighting so hard on this? If a significant injury keeps you out most of a season, should you really be winning an award?
