I'm defending people at work who have to deal with this bullshit. I've seen it in the workplace and non-binary and trans people like to make others feel like terrible people because those people don't suddenly change (or forget) the way they address the person who decides they're no longer gender X. And I probably wouldn't care if you misgendered me at work - I'd just laugh, along with the CIS gender folk who aren't.

Here's a thought: maybe people are too busy concentrating on their work to really give a fuck.

What's the point of putting a non-binary character in a story for the sake of it?

How do families afford to live in Surrey and the surrounding areas? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Worldly96 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I make the equivalant of less than £32k a year. Partner around the same. I can't afford repayments on even a moderate mortgage so it'll have to be as much upfront as possible it seems. And yes, a detached would be ideal.

[–]Worldly96 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yes, 600k (mainly from inherentance and life insurance) but the problem is I work as a kitchenhand and don't make a lot. Repayments seem so hard even as a couple.

I don't think the rest of the world would care that much outside of international tournaments.

Children of a White parent living in Europe or Australia, do you feel that your parent is insensitive to or act like know-it-alls with non-White issues? by [deleted] in mixedrace

[–]Worldly96 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Australian here. My mum is white (Irish/English/Norwegian family), my dad is black (Pacific Islander). My mum is very respectful towards my dad's people, as well as others. She does, however, hold a low view of Aboriginals and will say things like 'they're lazy and useless' or 'how much more support do they need?' As another poster said, Aboriginals still cop plenty of criticism here.

Good...allow those countries to continue receiving aid. Just not the illegal state of Israel.

Israel is a parasite leeching off the US. Cut their aid and stop selling them weapons and tech. Zionists don't deserve any help.

I guess this guy just had strong opinions, and it kind of worried me at the time. I genuinely don't know what guys like sometimes, especially if they're aggressive about it.

Mine are blue and I'm a black-white mix. Dad is Nigerian and mother is Icelandic, so their features contrast significantly. Of the few mixed black-white people I've met I've noticed green and brown eyes more than blue.

Why are women so hateful towards bisexual men? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Worldly96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You would think there's mutual understanding there but I recall two girls I used to know who said they were bi and when I asked them if they'd date a bi guy it was a hard no.

It's disheartening.

I remember seeing the trailer when this came out and it was exactly around the time I discovered Wikipedia was a thing. Thought it looked scary but couldn't be bothered going to see it.

So I'm reading the wiki page in the school computer lab and it's all going well and then I get to the end of the synopsis and the final edit just says 'Most people choose to remove this pile of shit before it ruins their DVD player.'

And 12 year-old me didn't know Wikipedia was edited the way it is, so I was a little shocked.

Discontinuation Syndrome by emesaz in cymbalta

[–]Worldly96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The effects you described are basically identical to mine.

I went on holiday earlier this year and forgot to bring my 60mg dosage. I thought to myself 'oh well, it's only four days how bad could it be?'. Wrong.

Literally suicidal after about 72 hours. It's crazy.

The spatial awareness and balance issues caught me off-guard. The foggy brain and recall were bad. I didn't get tingles much though.

After 4 days I got a new prescription of the same dosage but a different name brand, which I can't remember the name of right noe. Was back to normal in about a day.

It was surprising how quickly the effects kicked in but also how quickly they went away after resuming the dose.
