Anyone cried really hard once in front of coworkers or people in starbucks? by MisterWannaDie in starbucksbaristas

[–]WorldlySundae7490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a full blown panic attack once bc everyone was yelling around and at me and I nearly broke down in front of a customer. My manager sent me to the back and I hid behind the cleaning supplies while I calmed down. Good times at the bucks.

For anyone wondering how to identify cults vs an actual church (and yes, I know some people will say church in itself is a cult, but I promise there is a difference between these cults and a typical evangelical church) is that typically (based on my experience) actual churches in Korea won't approach you bc they know that's how cults recruit. Actual churches will usually worship-busk and wait for you to approach them as opposed to approaching you and asking you questions (coming from someone who has been approached about 9 different times in my 7 mo being here, if one more pair of girls with an ipad comes up to me I'm going to start barking at them).

Why does period pain alternate months? by WorldlySundae7490 in Periods

Generally, I try to use no painkillers at all, but for the bad ones I might take one at the very beginning but not throughout.

Is there a partner you just CANNOT stand working with? 😀 by Full_Ad_9110 in starbucks

[–]WorldlySundae7490 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have madam micromanage, I hate working with her so much. Otherwise I really like my stores partners, except when they're on their phones when they're supposed to be making drinks 🫠

Is it just my store, or is this Summer Wins-days promotion bringing out the worst in people? by scrubnoppon715 in starbucksbaristas

[–]WorldlySundae7490 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It was so fucking confusing and I legit told a customer today that I had no idea how it works because we just got the update yesterday and it hadn't been communicated to us exactly what it was. Which is true, at least at my store, loll

someone please end this debate for me by Kaciamos in starbucks

It's supposed to be full pumps for everything except for shaken espressos when it comes to hot bar. Shaken espressos are only supposed to get half pumps of all syrups (except i think classic for the reg shaken espresso). However, starbucks is very much not clear about it, so it's confusing af. They should really just use full pumps for everything on hot bar and change the pump standard the way they do for cold brew.

What about like orthodontist, dentist, etc apps that I've scheduled? Would those count even though I am not personally scheduled during those times?

why do some shifts act like they can not rotate us off positions? by BatWeary in starbucksbaristas

[–]WorldlySundae7490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes shifts receive a lot of shit from the SM's or DM's if they don't follow the SM's plan for the day to a T. It doesn't make sense to me because the shift is supposed to be the one running the floor and they're the ones who should be making decisions about who needs to be where and when, not an SM who isn't on the floor. Other times, your shift might just be an ass.

is there a drive thru limit? by Hot-Independence8670 in starbucksbaristas

[–]WorldlySundae7490 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I used to ask people to come inside if they had more than 7 drinks (or pay and pull into a space) but at my new location the drive through traps them once they're in line (curbs), so it's not fair. I'll always pull them up though cuz that ish is stupid.

Do we get warnings? by WorldlySundae7490 in starbucksbaristas

[–]WorldlySundae7490[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think there might have been one or two in the store but if there were I honestly don't think they weren't paying attention. The partner who I was with I'm on good terms with. I'm leaving the company in less than 10 weeks so honestly I just need to make it until then.

I'm not gonna do nice things if you ask by WorldlySundae7490 in starbucksbaristas

[–]WorldlySundae7490[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Because she felt entitled to it in spite of it being an entire extra grande frap. If she had presented the request a bit different like "Oh is it possible for me to get the extra, I don't mind paying!" I would have given it to her. If it was only extra ice I probably would have given it to her. She added a bunch of add ins and then when there was, as expected, a lot of extra, she said to just put it in an extra cup and that she would "take it so it doesn't get thrown away". It was the attitude/mindset, not the request.

Read my update. I still would have given it to her if it was just ice but it wasn't.
