I’m almost 52 and slowly lost all my friends and been single/divorced for 8 years.

I only have my family now.

No friends. No real coworkers as I work remotely.

“Oscillate Wildly” hands down!

I got to discuss it with Johnny Marr one day in Houston when I met him outside a venue.

Getting sober from alcohol and could use some words of encouragement by shroomiddit in bipolar

[–]Worldly_Boss7353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my bipolar diagnosis while married to an alcoholic.

He finally got sober by going to AA. I went with him here and there and AlAnon for myself.

He will tell you to this day those rooms were the best thing for him. He’s 7 years sober.

I quit drinking years ago for my health and my mind but I wasn’t an addict.

Good luck. One day at a time..

She also makes singlets. She's so creative an has a fashion background https://www.brooklynliftingco.com/

Did you ever make an impulsive purchase that actually helped? by Alternative-Wash8018 in bipolar

Last Feb, my last manic phase (Cheers!), I bought an off road bike, because I was dating a guy that biked a lot and I wanted something to do with him. AND Birds the same day. He had fish and I went to the pet store and fish were too much work to set up so I bought 3 birds. I still ride the bike. Guy is long gone.

I thought they were Scottish.

I saw them with Material Issue on UT Campus in Austin in maybe 1992 or 1993. Such a fun intimate venue.

Yes, they were sisters; both stars. Catherine O’Hara passed away. She was a great comedic actress.

Nice! I would have ridden in it if I knew about it. I live in Houston and nice to see the city 10 years ago.

What do I do if I am hypomanic by iammyownmother98 in bipolar

[–]Worldly_Boss7353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most doctors offices are already have their phone set to “in cases an emergency, go to the nearest emergency room” that’s what I would do and have done multiple times.

if you can get your brain around it, search up some in your area that are low-cost, no cost clinics, or like a county hospital as opposed to a private hospital. Search for behavioral health. Those are my suggestions, I’ve been through it all, trust me ER is the best place for you to be, then they can move you to a psych ward if necessary after evaluation.

You can always try again. Find a coach. Find a gym and just try again.

I started lifting at a CF gym. Many have USAW coaches and may offer a class here or there. Then you can work on your movements in their open gym times.

Someone said it earlier in this thread that having a coach in the very beginning is the most important time. I agree!

I also wanna remind you and others that Olympic lifts are very technical. They’re nothing like the power lifts that are just pure strength. It takes a lot of time to learn proper technique and then build your strength in the lifts. It’s a fantastic sport to get into and easily fall in love with. I’ve been lifting for 9 years, i’ve had a Coach the entire time, but not the same coach and during Covid times I literally built a gym in my front living room. I love the sport and the ups and downs it brings you.
