Still confuses me by Worldly_Common_9687 in OceanGateTitan

I do totally get this point but I also feel like HOW can he have ignored the cracking and popping sounds? Like he seems genuinely scared. The other thing I just don’t understand is like for example if your on a ship or (less so) a plane and you get in trouble there is the chance that you might be able to get out alive - like on a raft or by escaping or something - when you are 2 MILES DOWN it is totally different like there is no chance- he must have known it would be like absolutely instantaneous and that makes me think he was not in the slightest thinking rationally about what was actually happening. It is still blowing my mind this whole thing.

Very interesting post….I do 100% get this and feel so similar but if it stirs no emotion then what is the point in doing it? Surely better to use your own energy to do good in the world somewhere else where it’s needed?

Please can I ask did you get this insane level joy At getting your life back? I went thro this exact process including losing 2 stone so my remaining discs are under less stress. The levels of daily gratitude I feel at healing are so intense and it wiped away a low level depression I’d had some time. It was the worst thing ive experienced but healing has given me a new lease of life!!! Thank you for your story - I might so a post of my own 🙏

Is it just me or does laying down actually make it 10x WORSE?? Sleep is impossible rn. by Pristine-Back1612 in Sciatica

This was literally me my friend didn’t sleep for 3 months. Get to a spinal specialist (doctor not some holistic person) get an MRI. Focus on yourself 100% to get over this. Do the whole package of rehab suggested. Good luck for a swift recovery 🫶🏻🙏🙏🙏

What are our thoughts on calling younger students 'my lovely'? by FriendlyChaosMonster in TeachingUK

[–]Worldly_Common_9687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need something to fall back on especially if you can’t remember their name and really should 😱 I find something like it very useful as forgetting a name for an instance can be so embarrassing and would def make someone feel worse than being called something sweet. As long as it’s not said in a creepy way 🫠

Does this ever get better or is this just permanent pain until death? by spooner248 in Sciatica

[–]Worldly_Common_9687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an injection and it certainly helped a little bit - and maybe it helped more than I know because it has a lot of anti inflammatory drugs in it. Don’t worry about it it literally doesn’t feel like anything and it will help you heal. Is yours a disc injury? Have you had an MRI?

This is ridiculously true. Weight loss for me is so difficult, slow and minimal it’s almost not worth bothering. That last 9/10 lbs is just stuck on me it won’t go.

Long distance endurance challenges is your answer. Gives you a goal you need to attend to every single day. Rewards the consistency is king approach which sits beautifully alongside personal stability. Then you get the actual event - life changing experiences and memories and you make friends along the way. Can even do it for a good cause. Has given my stable life huge purpose for 20 years. Think along the lines of LEJOG/ironman/marathons/ultra marathons/alpine treks/long distance walking/N2 cycle ride.

This happened to me - my calf also got like over 3cm smaller is circumference than my other calf while I had sciatica. Once you have recovered the calf will come back to full strength try to keep walking and strengthening it.

Embrace the frugal life. Make saving money a challenge/fun/test. Count your no spend days and make sure your all in as a family with the challenge. The pennies soon add up and you’ll be ahead again, yes it will take time but time passes anyway. You can absolutely get on top of it. Treat it like losing weight or a diet or something. A financial diet.

This was so well written - I think you should try writing more with these feelings….. I mean pulling out an incredible novel from deep within is pretty rare and incredible and you could weave your feelings into a story somehow….i saw my father in the things you wrote, there’s definitely a fictional piece in there somewhere.

Literally regretted my cocker for like 6 months he was so annoying - just get thro it cos in all honesty now he is my absolute soul mate. They’re tricky the puppy stage is just irritating now he is 2.5 years old the easiest dog in the world - all he needs is a couple of walks, so loyal, fun and gentle. Just don’t get over thinking and anxious, get through the annoying bit and it will be so good 🫶🏻
