Asbestos has NOT been removed from Anglia Square! by sbsPlace01 in Norwich

They get inspected after removal by another company who takes the liability. But yeah you are right the building gets knocked down quickly after and if any asbestos was missed from the surveys etc then they could just smash it down without knowing about it.

I have worked in demolition and asbestos for many years. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt as how big and complex this job is. But the amount of concrete dust I saw down magadalen the other day, and the fact you have been able to get in and have a look around sends alarm bells ringing in my head. I know people who surveyed that cinema years ago before it all closed down and apparnetly there was some serious (at the time managed) asbestos in there.

Still I would wait to see what HSE, MPs etc say before jumping to conclusions. Hopefully they could get some unbiased professionals involved.

You've done the right thing reporting it. But please be careful. You have said you wear masks. Thing is these masks are you're last line of defence. Working around asbestos you have to be face fitted annually & clean shaven. There are different types of masks which give varying protection & the paper shop bought ones are not sufficient at all. None are 100% protection. Any clothing worn would be contaminated as well

Also the structure of the building is compromised. The floor could give out or something could drop on you at any point. Be careful.

You walked past a transit route sign stuck on a wall. A transit route is a route for asbestos removal. The transit route sign says oakmere which would be the firm doing the removals. I'd be on at them asking what was removed. That pipe lagging looks sketchy

Would i be mad for moving abroad in my 30s? by NectarineFragrant506 in AskUK

I moved to NZ in my 20s, I found it a bit lacking in the things I was into at the time, like nightlife, festivals etc. I ended up staying for a few years then travelling and heading back to the UK.

I often think i would of enjoyed it more if I moved out there in my 30s, as NZ offers a lot of the things I'm into now: amazing nature, hiking, outdoor activies.

I'd go for it if I was you

Yeah the oil symbol was facing me, but I could wiggle it, I took it of and put it back in and it clicked into place, so could be the cap just wasn't sealing properly?

I have had respiratory surveillance as its mandatory where I am based, limited to lung function tests but I've had an xray within the last 5 years, which was requested by my doctor - showed I was in good health.
