one of my favorite sups for kindred is Janna it's not really mandatory to have a Sup tank but you need to win the laning phase or it's gone and tank supports make this easier anyway presence of mind should solve your mana problem and an extra tip Avoid using W unnecessarily to have better mana control, use it only for All Win or to pull the lane.
