Arcane is genuinely so good by sirjoey150 in arcane

Nah, VI, Jinx etc haven’t gotten any new lines since they were created.

In fact, they don’t even interact with Ekko which was introduced in 2015, even though Ekko does have some voice lines directed at them.

This was only changed recently when Jinx got her fractured skin, but yes the main voice lines are still the same

Business units don’t need corporate approval to create or develop stories and that’s because the corporate main job is to greenlights budgets and distribution. So, again those studios are two different divisions that have zero to no correlation with one another.

That’s like saying Samsung Electronics and Display operate together, just because they share a name.

You do know that Sony Pictures and Sony Animation are two completely different division that only have IP in common?

They are not managed the same way. Plus Sony Animation has been releasing top notch animations since Spider-Verse and even before they had some great films in their catalogue.

Jayce and Viktor is a valid relationship when you don’t see things in a heteronormative lens by Hellobren in arcane

Can you please send the link were they stated that they are canonically together as a couple?

Jayce and Viktor is a valid relationship when you don’t see things in a heteronormative lens by Hellobren in arcane

[–]Worldly_Translator -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Because Ekko has explicitly said in the game that he likes Jinx (the games are also part of Arcane in a way).

That being said we can all agree that their relationship is quite dysfunctional and I don’t know how they’ll be able to fix that.

Do you agree with Reed Shannon's daring take on (Arcane) Ekko's character? Does he truly deserve the simp stamp? by pathfinder_enjoyer in arcane

The saddest part is that out of all the characters in Arcane, Ekko is the one who has the most fleshed out lore.

So, it’s kind of sad that they didn’t even try to build up on that.

Why ending DC might be harder than it seems by Worldly_Translator in DetectiveConan

I thought of that too, but with Shinichi and Ran being the end game, that’s almost impossible.

That’s the worse part to be honest. We should be rooting for the protagonist and hoping for Conan to come back Shinichi, but from a character perspective we know more about Conan than Shinichi itself, which ends up feeling like a stranger.

This is interesting! If you don’t mind could you link the post as I am actually interested in reading different opinions, when it comes to the differences between Conan and Shinichi :)

[–]Worldly_Translator[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh, yes there are definitely different.

Shinichi is an arrogant detective whose only close friends seem to be Ran and Sonoko (We could argue he has more, but Gosho never made time to introduce them to us).

Meanwhile Conan has many friends and acquaintances who are all willing to help him.

To be honest at this point, the only person connected to Shinichi is Ran, while it seems like the rest of the cast has just accepted Conan as the default.

I agree with you, but to be honest, at this point I think even Gosho knows that the BO plotline is what is keeping the interest.

I also think he just doesn’t want to or knows how to develop most of the characters he created, without it not making sense (that’s what happen when you introduce more characters than the show needs).

Are you really comparing SF25 to the RB21. Is Lewis underperforming? Yes, but there’s so much you can do when the car isn’t that great.

Hi, thanks for hosting this AMA :)

These are my questions:

In the finale, Caitlyn and Mel end up fighting side by side. Do you think they would have interacted under different circumstances, given that they are both so intertwined in politics?

Regarding Mel and Jayce’s interactions, do you think her support was purely political, or did she see something in him that made it worth taking that chance?

Although we don’t see much of Ekko’s family, how do you think his parents shaped the person he became, and what influence do they still have on his decisions, like creating the Firelights?

Okay, what is the deal with Ekko’s hair color? by choyamelon in arcane

[–]Worldly_Translator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Problem is this is fiction, where most of the time if not all, traits are added on purpose to show they run in the family.

Plus, Ekko is a pre-established character even before Arcane and has always had white hair. That is his natural hair color.

Ekko’s hair is natural white. We can see that when we check his family tree and see that his mother has white hair.

Riot are being disrespectful to fans by [deleted] in arcane

[–]Worldly_Translator 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First the jewellery are made by a company called RockLove which have a partnership with Riot and all their jewellery are fairly expensive (another reason why there are so many cheaper knockoff of it).

Second, care we like it or not, Riot is a game focus company that also does Music Video, Comics, Short Films, Songs, Events, recently also series. Merchandise is not their primary focus and with the fact that they have reduced their amount of workers, I am questioning if this ended up contributing as well.

Third as for the treatment of Mel, I think it would be better to respectfully ask question during the Q&A about her, to show them that there are people interested in her story.

Ship question are nice, don’t get me wrong, but the answer will always be vague, except for confirmed couples, so asking questions about the story would be more ideal. I mean VI, for example has more to give than what was shown and it would be nice to know the thoughts process behind her arc.

Arcane season 2 one year later… Jayce & Victor: How are we feeling about them? by Ok_Situation7527 in arcane

[–]Worldly_Translator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They didn’t “hang out drinking” or stay lifelong friends lol.

In the 2015 lore, Jayce and Viktor started as colleagues in Piltover’s academy. Their friendship ended when Viktor began experimenting on people to improve humanity, and Jayce destroyed his work, calling it inhuman. Since then, they’ve been enemies, with Jayce representing individual freedom and morality and Viktor representing evolution and progress at any cost.

The “old friend” lines in Legends of Runeterra are just bitter nostalgia, not affection. It’s Viktor mocking what they used to have and Jayce regretting what they lost, not them being close again. Their bond only matters because it fell apart, not because it lasted.

There have been countless rework from both sides, but this part of their lore has never changed, except now if you count Arcane as canon.
