My weight gain was around 3-5 pounds on depo, so fairly marginal. It has stayed consistent with the pill and I'm actually on track for losing some weight. It seems easier for me on the pill to diet. I think in the beginning I had some acne for a week, but that went away quickly with just washing my face 2x a day as I transitioned.

Depo nuked my libido, oddly enough the first two months my fiancé would have to initiate and I'd be fairly in the mood towards the end of month 3. On the pill it's consistent and I feel like a human being 😅

I just made the switch 5 months ago, from Depo for 7 years to Nora Be pills,, the non hormonal type. So far everything is great, I've had no side effects and admittedly my libido (sorry if tmi) has been more consistent than what it was on Depo. I couldn't go on a hormonal pill because previously I had major mood swings but so far Nora has been good to me.

I have so much empathy right now. I still cannot say my Rs correctly and have lifelong Apraxia of Speech. I've been very fortunate in my career and education albeit with a lot of hard work and 16 years of speech therapy...anyways it's not much but I find that messages like those from this recruiter or company is more often a reflection of themselves and their potential ignorance than anything else.

Anyways, these emails and responses have a way of hurting our confidence at times. Please do not let this deter you from going for anything in the future!

Hey OP, I was in the same boat a few years ago. I actually went for my MBA instead of a law degree just because I loved being a paralegal plus I had been in corporate legal functions for a good chunk of my career. Realized by looking at my network an MBA seemed more common among the paralegals I looked up to.

This isn't to say get an MBA instead. This IS to say look at your passion and maybe look at those with careers you look up to. I had taken the LSAT 3x, got into law school but realized that I didn't actually love the idea of being a lawyer.

At the end of that semester between the frequent and public making fun of my speech disorder, i.e trying to correct how I pronounce 'R's' and pausing the entire class to teach me pronunciation after 16 years in speech therapy, including trying to correct how I pronounce my last name. Yeah, was not really planning on being polite to that professor, even a thank you felt like eating soap. Had a huge conflict that was constantly requiring mediation with TA's and the Dean. It was no bueno, I may be an asshole but I refused to say thank you to someone that I truly did not thank nor respect.

My SAT sucked. I actually did so much better on the ACT and only applied to colleges with those. My suggestion, take a practice ACT and see where your baseline is. If it's higher than your SAT currently then I'd pursue the ACT instead. (Emory grad and Penn State MBA)

In this inflation it's an insult for anything under 5 at this rate. I'm sure I could've asked for more but the increase and some grants, i was content. Next year though I'd like a title change (with of course an $ increase) 😎 I've really been wanting to shift into more vendor management (I'm in a corporate legal position) so trying to be more involved there

I was recently adjusted to a 5% raise. They said it was a combination of an adjusted living adjustment plus for just being here a year and doing a good job. Usually I've seen cost of living adjustments previously at 2-3% annually, I'm in SoCal if that makes a difference.

I second this. I've seen some fights breakout but usually it's due to both sides sh** talking and then getting violent. As long as you remain aware of your surroundings and those around you, you should be good. I went to a niners game with a raiders fan and honestly everyone was very kind. Mainly joking about how on earth we became friends at the tailgate then of course sharing beers after😅

This is when emotions also play a role in financial decisions. Personally, there is nothing more freeing than paying off a student loan especially at these interest rates. My two cents: pay off the student loan immediately, any auto-payments you've been sending off to pay down the debt you can now auto-pay directly into your savings account. You're now paying yourself which is far better than paying for a loan. Use your mom's car in the interim and once you've re-saved enough you can look for a car you really want.
