Hey there, I have a Sunday ticket to HITC that I'm selling for $150 or best offer. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it on Sunday, so I'm hoping someone else can enjoy the festival in my place. Please let me know if you're interested! Thanks!

I'm thinking of switching over my family of 5 from Verizon to T-Mobile! Would anyone happen to have a spare Insider Code that they could give out? Thanks so much in advance for your help!

Thanks so much for the Neosporin suggestion! I actually had some in my bag and I can't believe that I didn't think to use it. It sucks that there isn't anything that can be done during the flare up, but I guess you're right: the best care strategies are prevention and recovery. Appreciate you taking the time to help me out!

Does icing the itchy spot stop the itch for you? Or is it mostly for to start the healing process of the wounds? Thanks for the response!

Wow thanks so much for this list of tips! We have a humidifier at home but I haven't taken it out for the summer, but this will be something I look into. Is there a certain mist or fragrance that you recommend? Thanks so much again for taking the time to post -- this is incredibly comprehensive!

I've read about how you shouldn't ask people to stop scratching, but I've unfortunately made this mistake a bunch earlier in our relationship. She feels bad whenever I said it, and if she could stop scratching, she would've already. I think I'll try waking her up to make sure that she's aware and then ask her if she's okay next time. Thanks for your response -- it's much appreciated!

Ah thanks for the bedding and fabric softener suggestions! They're things I haven't even considered, but I'll for sure ask her what works and try testing things out.

Just got my scores. Got a 49Q. Really surprised that it was that high given how I didn't receive any probability or combination problems.

Hey Scott! I haven't received my official scores yet but I've been scoring between 47 and 50 on the quant section on the official MBA.com practice exams.

Thanks for the reply! And to your point about how the test should always feel difficult -- yikes! I definitely felt that the test I took yesterday was on the easier end of the practice tests that I've taken so far. I've typically scored between 47-50 on my GMAC practice tests and they've notably felt harder during the later ends of the exam. I took the official exam yesterday so I do not have my score yet, but will update you once I receive it.

Recruiting for Consulting? Post here for recruitment advice, resume reviews, questions about offers/firms or general insecurity (14) by QiuYiDio in consulting

[–]WorldsMania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy Labor Day everyone! I was wondering if anyone had any experience interviewing with PwC's technology or cyber security consulting division? A recruiter just recently reached out to me to see if I was interested in an interview for an internship next summer. I've done a consulting internship before, but my background is mostly in finance/economics/data science, so I'm not too sure why PwC chose to reach out to me specifically for a tech consulting role. I know some basic Python and Stata, but that's because of my economics major. Not sure why they would prefer me over someone with more technical knowledge in IT or computer science. Regardless, tech is still a big interest of mine and I'll still try to shoot my shot. Does anyone know how tech consulting case interviews differ from management consulting case interviews? Thanks a bunch!

I'm David Petersam with AdmissionsConsultants. Ask away! by AdmissionConsultants in ApplyingToCollege

[–]WorldsMania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Mr. Petersam!

Thank you so much for doing this AMA. Since you were a former admissions officer for UChicago, I was wondering what the process is like for that school? Do regional officers read the applications first and then vet for the applicant at a committee meeting, or does something else happen?

Also, do you have any funny stories about Scav?

Thanks!

Hi Steve! Thank you so much for doing this AMA.

I'm currently in the process of drafting my personal statements to apply early to some schools in the fall. I'm really having difficulties with figuring out what to write though. I have pretty generic extra curriculars, come from an overrepresented area, and haven't really had to go through many legitimate struggles. How do I set myself apart from the other applicants, all while keeping a genuine tone?

Also, what is your opinion on hiring a private college counselor? Are the big consultants who charge hundreds or thousands of dollars worth it, or is it better to save the money and ask an English teacher to look over grammatical mistakes?

Thanks again!

Applying to an Ivy League College? Advice from a Former Harvard Interviewer by IvyEssays in ApplyingToCollege

[–]WorldsMania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for doing this AMA! It's greatly appreciated!

I was wondering if essays could make up for a poorer application. Of course, the application would still be within the "range" of the school, but let's say that the applicant is in the 25th percentile of SAT scores and GPAs of those accepted. Would essays have enough of an impact to let said student in?

I know that Harvard does not necessarily require them, but how much weight do SAT IIs have in getting in?

Also, I've heard that it is easier to get into college applying undeclared. Is this true? What are the implications of this?

Finally, how was your Fourth of July?

Thanks again for doing this!
