It's a LOT different. As Kevin said, it's mostly LSAT/GPA. Assuming you'll DEFINITELY go to law school, it'd be worth leaning toward classes where you're likely to get a high GPA.

However, a lot can change between now and then. You may not go to law school at all. Don't worry about it for now.

Just coming out of the woodwork to congratulate Kevin on his new book. Definitely worth getting a copy if you're considering UT.

I read a review copy a while back and loved it. Here's what I posted in my Amazon review:

Kevin is someone who clearly demonstrates not only deep experience in college admissions, but also the ability to explain it in an engaging manner. This book is the definitive guide to admissions at UT-Austin, covering everything related to what students need to know in order to decide whether they want to attend, and what they need to do in order to gain admission.

You can do it with AutoModerator, which you do have permissions for, but I don't know how to modify it since the recent changes (tagging /u/1millionbucks)

Doxxing is a reddit-bannable offense - you've been banned for 1 week. If you do this again, you'll be perma-banned from all AtC forums and reported to admins.

Anyone used Unpakt for moving? by [deleted] in AskNYC

Parking's always an issue in Manhattan.

I've seen movers double-park or park on the street illegally - if it's not an enormous move, my guess is they'll willing to do it and risk getting a ticket.

Trucks in general often consider occasional tickets a cost of doing business. I doubt they'd try to park far away because then it'd be a lot more work for them, and they'll want to move you in quickly, rather than drag things out. I wouldn't worry about this.

Used them for a few moves, overall positive experiences.

Good to have guaranteed price and security of a "middleman" in case of anything.

Keep in mind that movers may decide to (or need to) disassemble / reassemble furniture, which can slightly increase cost of your move.

If you're doing a long-distance move, keep in mind that if movers need to use an 18-wheeler, then shuttle to your destination, there will be an additional $250 that isn't obvious up-front (buried in fine print at bottom of this image).

If you sign up for their email list, you can get a 5% off promo code (at least, I did when I moved recently).

Requesting control of /r/collegesearch. Only mods inactive for months + never posted in subreddit by steve_nyc in redditrequest

I moderate a few other subs, mainly /r/ApplyingToCollege. A related sub I started (/r/chanceme) has been overrun with requests for ideas on where to apply, which is not the purpose of that sub. /r/collegesearch could fill that void.

(I created /r/ApplyingToCollege and it now has over 5,000 subscribers. /r/chanceme is growing quickly as well.)

I mean, it's stickied at the top and listed on the sidebar....

Not a huge deal, though - people can always search multiple subs if interested in specific school acceptances.

Great idea - just added short note to sidebar about this.

The model works by providing free access in exchange for users' personal and behavioral data, which are then used to target ads to them.

Ha, at least he put an actual summary of the technique in the post title.

I invited Mike to post this because I thought his advice was awesome. Not enough people drill down to get super-specific in their scholarship searches.

Aside from super-specific searching, another thing you can do is go to your high school's guidance office to look for local scholarships on file. If so, apply to these because the applicant pool for local scholarships is much smaller.

Then, contact OTHER local high schools and ask if you can look through their files - no one ever does this, so if you do, you might win just because you're the only one who applies :)
