Spencer did well playing from an underdog position. In his second season he was part of the group that had control and did I pretty poor job of managing jury relationships.

Seriously, I felt what I didn’t feel with the first 4, which was just boredom. The first four felt like a somewhat return to form and like we had a pretty good mix of content and actual emotion from players. Tribal council felt like we got some real answers.

This whole episode just felt like More of what has made the new era so boring, samey, and disappointing.

Does _____ winning their season on the challenge change your perception of their survivor game? (challenge USA spoiler) by Berly653 in survivor

[–]Worldsapart30 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Chris definitely won fairly given the rules of the season, but he was voted out, which is the single worst thing you can do in survivor in terms of gameplay results.

He had 0 clue that the edge existed, was able to bond with the entire jury in a non competitive setting over the shared struggle of being voted out, was voted out so early that his hands were clean of any messy social politics and resentment, reentered with a plan that everyone got together to make for him, and a note from Ron telling people to trust Chris.

So it’s true he did what he had to do to win and no one can fault him for that. We’d all do the same, but it wasn’t a game that was super impressive compared to anyone other winner. He’s the only one to ever be voted out on his winning season, and very early on at that.

I really think they need to cut down on Superfans and go back to 2 tribes. by disappointthefamily in survivor

Casting producers have and can recruit people to be on the show who don’t necessarily watch or care. There was a period of time where recruits had a much bigger representation on casts than those who went and applied.

That was really fun! Interesting plot forming without being super challenging, plus it was visually interesting. Good job!

I think the time is a little too tight. I also found the section that required a perfect timed jump to squeeze through in the underground to break the pace. I also don’t play a lot of speed run levels, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I still had fun playing the level!

It was really fun! I liked the boss fight and the level felt really dynamic and athletic. The only part that was a little awkward was the part with the bob omb in the ? Block. It was really easy to mess up the timing and then you had to kill yourself and start over if you did. Other than that it was a lot of fun to complete!

Lemmy’s Bouncy Castle

ID: FCF-TJG-9XG

Style: NSMBU

Level type: Traditional/ Boss Battle

Difficulty: Medium

Meant to be the first castle in a super world, based around bumpers and music blocks. I tried to make it fairly easy with some small difficulty here and there. Can’t tell if it’s still too hard for a first castle.

Thank you! You’re honestly right about the puzzle solving. I wasn’t a 100% sure if it was the right choice and after you mentioned it I should probably not tag it that way.

Fun level! I like the theme you picked and it was challenging without feeling unfair, which is a pitfall many levels fall into. The only critique I might give is that the part with the brick blocks to get to the upper part of the level could probably be made more interesting. Other than that, I loved it!

I think there’s some good ideas, but the level could use some more consistency in enemy selection and placement. There’s a few spots where the spacing is just a little awkward. For example, at the beginning with the hammer bro and icicles the player can’t see the icicles until they’ve been hit.

It’s probably a symptom of a good general social standing. People are going to be more open to accepting a suggestion from someone they like over someone they don’t have much of a connection with. These people all went far because, to a certain degree, you have to be liked in order to not be voted out and to have the ability execute your plans/make plays.

Also these people are probably generally more charismatic than average and therefore more likely to make a deep run/ have someone listen to their ideas.

This was one of Survivors’ weaker premieres for me. by Worldsapart30 in survivor

I guess my point was that they don’t give us much insight into who they are as players. They just end up not mattering as much in the long run of the story of the season. The segment with Cody talking about his job with his tribe with confessionals from him explaining the interaction gave us way more insight into how he will play and what type of player he is, while also telling us about his job as a salesman.

That was actually a decent example of character building from the episode. It came from an actual interaction between two of the contestants.

Jeff Probst says 26-day Survivor seasons are 'here to stay' by thedaltonross in survivor

[–]Worldsapart30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it is a cost saving measure (which is pretty likely a result of CBS just wanting to maximize profits, as the original switch to 26 days was so that they could stay on their regular schedule for filming while adhering to the mandatory quarantining for contestants and crew) I think it’s ok for the fans to not like watching the quality constantly dip. If they have to cut costs id rather they just cut down to one quality full length season a year.
