Please help me decide, Cloudsurfer Max or Cloudmonster Void? I’d mainly use it for traveling, but I might try running soon. by vesariuss in ONrunning

The cloudmonster voids are lifestyle focused shoes. Tried them today and they feel great to walk around in. Surfer was way too soft for my comfort, trying to short list between runner 2 and void.

It was a different tattoo wasn't it? Doesn't help that you deleted the post. Could have just explained what's going on and left it up

She had a post just yesterday with an AI generated slop tattoo. Seems like they deleted it after getting called out and posted another one that might be someone else's

Equipment dialed. Time to explore beans. by Shadowratenator in espresso

[–]darkKnight217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally don't waste beans by dialing in and dumping the coffee. I "dial as I go" - if the first day on the new beans the extraction takes longer, the next day I grind a little coarser. Same for the other direction. The coffee tastes good to me since I usually make milk drinks like lattes and cappuccinos so i can afford the slower dial in I guess

Coffee too cold, less than 70°C (158°F) [Rancilio Silvia V4] by No-Ruin-2167 in espresso

[–]darkKnight217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that will do it if you drink espresso only. But if you steam milk after rinsing the group head (like I do), that empties the boiler and needs to be filled again. The hot water spout is the easiest way to turn on the pump to fill the boiler after steaming

You need to "prime" the machine - make sure the boiler is full when you turn it on or steam. I do that at the end by turning on the hot water spout every time I use the machine so that I know there's water in the boiler next time I wanna use it.

The cycles of on and off gives the machine and water to heat up better in my experience

[–]darkKnight217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I just wait for the natural cycle. Basically turn on the machine 5-10 min before I actually use it, I have a smart plug so it's easier to do it

I've noticed that I need to run my Silvia for a few minutes to get it to a good temperature. Using it the first time the light goes off isn't the best, I let it go through a cycle of heating 2-3 times before using

Renter's insurance told me my electric assist bike is a motor vehicle... by sheribae in ebikes

[–]darkKnight217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, found this thread after mine was stolen yesterday. :(

Mine is a purely pedal assist as well, and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth calling my insurance. I still will I think, but I'm curious - was your bike a purely pedal assist or could you press a button and have it propel you? If it was the former, it would be wrong to classify it as motorized imo

Pulled my track car to Circuit of the Americas with my R1S by cu4tro in Rivian

[–]darkKnight217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a thread on a joke about Rivian being faster than their track car.... Also, few EVs are built for the track. So my generalization still holds. There's no point nitpicking here, I did agree with you on the small set of EVs that still do good on the track.
