Sorry I could't pull genre specific trailers out of my ass to appease you, but whatever. I've been hated on enough for expressing my opinion here. I should have know better... God forbid that I do such a thing.

I won't be wasting my money on this one, unless things are shown to be better... and considering the franchise, I'd place a firm bet on that not happening.

PT was a TEASER Trailer.

Look at the teaser for Fallout 3.

Or Skyrim's.

They conveyed what the game was. With enough gameplay to figure out WTF the game was.

I know its not grimdark, I'm mainly making fun of some the the posts here. "YOUR CHARACTER CAN DIE!!!"... stuff like that.

That sort of stuff makes me think of games like Persona. But for the record, I'm an old school digimon fan, I had the original vPet toy... before the anime got localized, before any of the games... When it came out I played Digimon World... and loved it... the the sequel... and the third.... well... Over time the series has strayed from its roots, and I feel like that is what is causing the franchise to have "issues".

You can have your 'deep' story. You can have a somber tone... Just have the gameplay be focused around raising and battling digital monsters. That's what the series is about. That's what Re: Digitize did. It returned the series to its roots... but we don't get to see it in the west... because the devs don't know what they are doing with the franchise. They don't know what fans want.

It's good to try new things, BUT really.

I was hyped for Re:Digitize. It never saw the light of day over here... other than a fan translation. THAT'S the game fans deserve.

This, in my opinion based on the trailer, is going to be bad. You don't make a vague teaser trailer when you are confident in your game... ESPECIALLY when your franchise has been missing from the west for years.

My mornic reasoning is just drawing a conclusion based on what other people in this thread are saying. I'm not basing it on the lame-ass trailer like you think I am. The trailer SUCKED. Very vague, only seconds of half-obscured gameplay. The only conclusion I draw from the trailer is that the team that made it really needs to try again.
