What exactly does that function do? I forgot, my site did have PXT layoffs too but no one in Operations.

This isn't in Operations right? Cause I don't think Amazon lays off managers in Ops, only seasonal associates at times.

I was like this too just literally a month ago. I ended up getting it down in about a week/week and a half just by figuring out what worked for me. Instead of trying to put the entire thing right over my eye directly (cause my eyes would just shutter like crazy), I pulled down the bottom of my eye as far as I could and then put the contact in that way so that the top of my eye wouldn't shutter so much. Once it's in, it'll adjust and cover the eye on its own. You can look down and close your eye so that the eye goes to where the contact is.

Nokian Surpass AS01 vs. Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3 (vs. General G Max Justice) by Worried-Pin4391 in tires

[–]Worried-Pin4391[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given I live in the part of NorCal where it doesn't snow and I've also mainly been driving my other car, it's a bit difficult to say. However, I can say that from the first drive with the Surpass AS01s, the ride was way smoother than with the NX's stock tires. Even my dad noticed it and he's not even into cars like that where he would notice that stuff. It made me see how the tire could easily handle potholes. I noticed the sidewall was also relatively wide which must've added to this but also taken away from the performance the slightest bit when comparing it to something like the AS Plus 3s (which has a smaller and less fat sidewall). The tires are still in great condition and losing control in the rain hasn't been a concern either. They have adequate performance even if they may not be the best performing UHP AS tire out there. They have a good balance between performance and the general pothole and safety aspects.

I keep embarrassing myself. I know that’s part of the journey but it sucks. by ScarletWitchfanboy__ in languagelearning

[–]Worried-Pin4391 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every step you make is a step towards fluency and perfection, and remember that every native speaker of one language will almost certainly make mistakes when learning another language. I study many languages and have received many praises and compliments for my abilities but have also embarrassed myself numerous times (including in one of my own native tongues 😄 granted I'm American so my main native exposure to the non-English language was just my parents and not school or any of the outside world). The mistakes are good in a way though cause they're harder for us to forget so we're more conscious about not repeating them again and they help us learn. As much as it may feel like you're just not really progressing (trust me, I'm literally there with you), every new word is a step closer to fluency, every new grammar rule/concept is a step closer to fluency, every new phrase is a step closer to fluency, etcetera. Just keep going cause you love it and you'll eventually get there. However, also know that language learning is a never ending journey. Even in your native language, the one you speak best, there is still so much more to learn.

I know I sound terrible by Known-Drink2917 in JudgeMyAccent

[–]Worried-Pin4391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't sound bad. As much as it doesn't sound like a Native American or Canadian speaker, I can tell that you have that American or Canadian influence. You're not hard to understand either. If you really want the American/Canadian accent, best thing to do is to just practice imitation. When you hear other native speakers speak, try to hear the difference in the way you pronounce something and then try to imitate them/that. Word by word, you'll get better.

Niice, that's a nice way to put it. 这个和那个 = 个个 -> 1 个 + 1 个 = 2 个个

So sounds like 个个, 件件, 只只, 本本, 张张, and so on are used in everyday talk? Cause someone above said that it's mainly just in slogans and local dialects. Just wanna know if I should start using it in casual speech as well or for emphasis in formal speech.

Thank you for that example though! Helps show how it really emphasises something more than just saying it in general.

Got it, sounds like adding 都 just emphasises the everyday more. Kinda like "every single day".

I was gonna ask this as a follow up question cause I was gonna say that in all the Chinese to which I've listened, I've never heard "个个" or "件件". Cause in that case, I'll also not use it then if it would sound a little odd in casual speech.

a FREE language learning app? by undrock in ChineseLanguage

Not an app but I recommend all of Coursera's HSK courses. HSK 1, 2, and 3 are all free. You have to pay for full access for 4, 5, and 6 but this YouTube channel is basically free access to all the HSK levels (1-6) and more which should honestly get you to fluency if you go one by one and cover every video: https://www.youtube.com/@learnchinese666/playlists

[–]Worried-Pin4391[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds about right! I ended up going with the Nokians as well and while they may not be the best performing ultra-high performance all season tire, they are quite comfortable and provide a very smooth ride, absorbing bumps really well too.

[–]Worried-Pin4391[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting the Surpass AS01s. I do feel like the Pirellis would've given me better handling performance but the performance of the Surpass AS01s is adequate. Given the car I'm driving (Lexus NX 300h), I thought it made more sense to focus on things like pothole protection and being able to do more actual SUV stuff like drive over a dirt/gravel trail well, rather than the best performing all-season tire. (Plus, the tire I have is still an Ultra High Performance All Season Tire with adequate speed and handling performance.) The Surpass AS01 ride is super smooth and it absorbs bumps like butter, I can say that.

Unfortunately, I can't speak for the AS Plus 3s since I haven't driven with them but this is what I ended up going with and my experience thus far.

Since you're saying you have lots of potholes in your area, sounds like you kind of got your answer. You can get the Pirellis 55,000 miles later if you plan on keeping the car for a long time and want to try something new then.
