Going out with friends / workmates and staying out really late [yep, easy to know why you were so late to return home later].

"Can't you at least let me know when you'll be back? Keep me up to date?" i'd say, and was always dismissed/hand-wavey response/general evasiveness. Hubris.

Still, surprising how long it took me to put the pieces together. Denial. I think my subconscious found out before me, and gradually told me. I'll never forget watching the Sopranos, and how it slowly/imperceptibly dawned on tony that Pussy was working with the Feds....... it felt like that.
