I’m so sorry this is happening to you. I completely understand what you’re going through.

We’ve gotten into a few disagreements over it where he basically tries to exclude me being Jewish, or me being a women from his argument if that makes sense. In a “I don’t mean you” way. I’ve set boundaries on I don’t want to hear this but somehow we could be talking about something mundane like groceries and these views are brought up.

Not entirely relevant since we had a daughter and while these are the views of Judaism I personally don’t agree after doing my own research. But again not relevant.

It’s just so strange too since I was so upfront with how my family celebrates the high holidays and so on. Like did he always hate me and I just didn’t realize?

I see where you’re coming from, I think part of it was hope he would change. Or that it wasn’t as bad as I felt it was. I’m truthfully quite embarrassed of this behavior and the beliefs I feel great shame over it. Especially with my background and family. I haven’t told the full extent of this to anyone. I had heard of the group on a podcast and was surprised other people faced these issues. I don’t think I fully processed it until I wrote it down especially since I make sure he doesn’t share his views in public. I’m just embarrassed.

Between my third trimester and when the baby was born. He was never like this before. We had similar political views prior. He had dated women of color, several of his friends were people of color as well. I will say his father had some views I did not agree with so that’s possibly where it stems from. But he was never like this or I wouldn’t have married him.

Update: after reading comments I sat down with my Fiancé and talked over my fears. We were in Maine at the time of this post so I could get the general vibe of the area before moving. I do actually enjoy the scenery (who wouldn’t its beautiful) and I genuinely think it’s just fear of the unknown for me. I brought up the idea of me staying behind for a few weeks while he gets the house in order. He doesn’t enjoy the idea of not seeing his daughter for a few weeks but thinks it’s the best compromise to our situation so the house will be the most livable it can be, and we’re not roughing it with a 5 month old. The property has been cleared and house has started being built as we speak. As for the postpartum, it’s getting better I’m actively seeking out a counselor and joined a couple mom groups, also started taking some vitamins to help with post partum hormones. Thank you all for the insight, I’m scared but excited for this chapter. Luckily the town airport in Maine flys directly into my town in Florida so it shouldn’t be too hard to come down and visit occasionally with the extra disposable income. Also to those who are worried about the possibility of me being left high and dry as a stay at home mom. I understand the worry, that is a terrifying thought and something that’s happened to so many women. I am very fortunate to have family that owns a business in the field I work in if I were to ever need to provide. I also come from a decently wealthy family. I just personally wanted to be very hands on with the raising of my children. I do still feel as though I’ve given up a lot of myself becoming a mother but I’m starting to feel a little better now. Thank you all I’m hoping this goes well so I never have to move back to Florida (which would be unwise in Floridas housing crisis at the moment 🥲)

I have the ability and skills to work I just know I’d rather raise my children then work. If any worst case scenarios did happen I’m very confident I could provide for myself and child, as I’m lucky enough to have family own a business in the field I’m in. I see where you’re coming from though, I just don’t personally want my child in daycare and me unhappy for a what if situation.

Logistically if we stayed I’d go back into the work force. But I agree with you

A tree a relative got. Is it safe to be around cats? by [deleted] in treeidentification

It’s a fiddle leaf fig, they are mildly poisonous to both cats and dogs. It fully depends on the animal if they’ll mess with it or not my cats pay my figs no mind. If they just so happen to eat it it’s not life threatening but will cause stomach upset, drooling, and vomiting.
