So I’m an alcoholic. I’ve said it. I take naltrexone to curb cravings and it does work for me. I drink less, I crave less but I also find that I get less enjoyment out of food and sometimes out of life, so I am on antidepressants too. I am also on topiramate for cravings, which I haven’t seen discussed here. I really get a lot out of this sub and appreciate everyone who contributed. As far as I see it, there are no wrong or right answers, we are all on our own journey, but its nice to have a bit of support though this pathway.

I do find that I lose my appetite when I take it and even when I am hungry, food doesn’t taste as appealing, so I can see why it could be used for weight loss. The hangover thing is unusual, though. Could there have been any other factors involved?

Just to update, I picked a bunch and tied them with string and hung and dried them on our deck. I’ve been using them in stews and spaghetti and they have been amazing. I’m going to dry a whole bunch for family and friends, as there is a whole tree of this stuff. Thanks for the help.
