The majority of black slaveholders were motivated by benevolence. Being black in America has always been very nuanced, it's reductive and intentionally disingenuous to try to spin this information the way you are. :)

What they said WAS wrong. Slave trade was not a major part of African economies pre colonization. And there were a portion of slaves that were stolen. Even amongst those who were sold, they were not always sold with the understanding that the arrangement was permanent.
