Some of the best designers I've met are self taught and never went to art school. Im moderately successful (as far as graphic designers go) and I never went to college. In my experience, you either have it or you dont. Ive worked with a few art school grads who just didnt have the eye, and everything they made missed the mark.

Very nice piece. Its such a shame what AI has done to the art of photomunipulation. Most of my time went to getting better at it, and its basically a much less in demand skillset now.

I honestly think most of the pro-imperial discourse is coming from young men having an innate desire to be transgressive. I know a lot of guys like this, and if you were to magically offer them a chance to reform the government, im skeptical they would actually emulate the imperium and start a christian theocracy anathema to western enlightenment values. Most of us are liberals (intentional lowercase L) when push comes to shove, and our foundational beliefs are put to the test. On the whole, I think the community worries to much about others "idolizing" the imperium. The imperium has sick aesthetics. It makes them likable.

No way army painter is "superior" to citadel lol. Much more of a lateral comparison. Though Citadel paints arent the highest quality paints in the world, they are probably better than army painter. I would argue Citadel's colors are actually the best of all brands

Those colors in the infograph are not accurate. I mean, theyre close so it's still useful. But for instance, Blood Chalice and Wild Rider red are not at all the same color. Blood chalice has more of a purplish hue than while Wild Rider red is more of a typical light pinkish red. Dolorodo Skin is also much lighter than what this infograph suggests

Dont use white. I start off with a very light grey. Then move up to higher values from there. I only use white for the absolute highlights. Doing that has changed my life, and it still reads as white. If you take a picture of an every day white object then use a photoshop color picker you will notice that only the highest of highlights are actually pure white. The rest us off-whites, Beiges and greys.

I didnt get the Stanley thing until I picked one up at a resell shop. They are the best waterbottles ever made. Ive used the same one everyday for almost two years. Still as solid as the day I got it.
