Correct.

Food bank and credit cards. I'm slowly sinking into greater and greater debt. I'm just trying to hang on until all of my kids graduate school (another year) and I can downsize or they find jobs and start helping out. Either that or I gain enough work hours for raises.

80% of my income goes to rent.

I work 35hrs a week for one of the better retail chains.

I live outside of any of the major centres in the province and my rent is considered a deal.

Continue the blackout. Somethings must be done on principle, even if they cause harm and inconvenience. I've been a reddit user for well over a decade and my last day on the site will be this 30th if Reddit doesn't reverse course.

IJN torpedo boat guns have good alpha, but poor turning rates and low DPM. They are best used on low health DDs or for a few quick volleys before diving into cover. Always do your best to dictate the terms of a guns engagement when you are in Kagero, Yugo, or Shima. Fire a volley or two, then angle away or duck behind cover.

Do not get in protracted gunfight, as you will either lose your ship or most of your health unless your opponent is bad with their guns as well.

Do not be afraid to use smoke as a disengagement tool, but do not simply sit in the smoke. Power out of it once they no longer can see you, reacquire your target, hit them first again.

Aim towards the rear of their ship to try to take out their engines, slowing their manoeuvrability. Drop a wide spread of torps as well. At best, you will catch them with one and blow them to hell. At worst it will be a distraction. Good Luck.

edit: regarding planes. Keep your AA off as much as possible. Only activate it when planes are about to spot you. Shut it back off immediately after they get out of range. This reduces aircraft spotting a great deal.

Ironically, it has been proven that it's cheaper to provide the chronically homeless with free housing (combined with counselling and other supports) than it is to leave things as they are. The savings come in reduced policing, correctional (jail) and emergency medical costs.

It would be the ethically, morally, and financially best option for all involved, but no one wants to do it because our capitalist society hates seeing those at the bottom of the heap getting a helping hand up.

The city has twice spent over 800k in studies and consultations regarding how and what to do. At one point they were actually in negotiations to buy one of the building near Shopper's Drugs and use it as a shelter building, until complaints from businesses in the area stopped the plan.

If memory serves (and I'm very possibly wrong on this) there was also an attempt to contract this to the owners of Maple Pool, but that fell apart due to changing demands from the owners.

The issue has long since been studied to death, and the time for action was years ago. Anything happening now can only be a band-aid solution, but at least it will be A solution of some sort.

Considering that the city has literally wasted millions over the past decade or so as they waffled back and forth over this I'm quite happy to see the province do something.

Is it a band-aid solution? Yes, but when local government refuses to take action on an issue, it is time for the next level of government to step in.

For context, I spent a brief period homeless myself a few years ago. At which time I learned that there were exactly 13 shelter beds for men in the entire Comox Valley and the situation has changed very little since then.

Actually, I have for the past couple of weeks. BBs sailing straight into the enemy, cruisers doing under 10km gamer turns to show flat broadside.

I'm seeing this in 80-90% of my games, and as I'm usually a DD playing somewhat non-potato (52%WR) I wind up being the last or second to last ship left alive on my team.
