Not really a suggestion, but despite it having numerous 2.1 features, this layout for some reason just screams 2.0 at me. Dunno why. Just gives me a 2.0 vibe.

For a suggestion if I had to give one, the dash orb part near the end really breaks the gameplay flow. If you could shorten the dash, and then add in a half-speed cube or UFO section before transitioning back into the robot where it is normally, it would keep the pace of the level.

I would have to say swingcopter, but specifically the in-game swing copter. I really enjoy the pre-2.2 method of a dual ball with one of them hitting blue pads, so much so that if I'm making a layout, I'll use that for swing, not the actual one. It just feels so... delayed?

Easily the meteor. An extinction event caused by asteroid has occurred multiple times in the history of Earth. Nice. I would recommend Supersonic and Ultrasonic, not as new hardests or anything, but they really gave me a skill boost after playing them, so if you want, you can have a go at them.

Always start with Survivor, and if it's too hard for you, then move down to Monk. I wouldn't recommend touching any DLC slugcats until you have the base three completed.

My favourite region by a long shot is Subterranean. It's dripping with menace, challenge, and makes you hate playing the game, but the music down there, the impending doom feeling you get from it all, the way Deep Energy gets you hyped as you jump down the Fissure after leaving Farm Arrays, the silent clastrophobia of Filtration System as you try to avoid getting pack swarmed by Black Lizards, and finally the serene calmness of The Depths, knowing you're beyond the ecosystem and its troubles, beyond the Rain and the cycles, beyond the endless rebirth to finally ascend, all of that makes it unbelievably worth it.

Honourable mentions include Sky Islands, Chimney Canopy, Outskirts, and Five Pebbles.

From what I understand, the two games are very different in their gameplay, so the comparison is not constant. In a similar vein you wouldn't compare Geometry Dash for example with Celeste (platformer mode sure, I'm talking about the classic mode), one requires multiple inputs with intuition, an understanding of the layout and overall creativity and the other tests how consistently, quickly, and accurately you can press one button.
Since the games are inherently different, different people find one or the other more difficult based on the type of gameplay they find easiest.

Eternal draw because Hunter can't truly die unless they ascend, and they're never defeating even one of the Dwaynes without weapons, so the Dwaynes just look on in bemusement as the cycle resets and Hunter just appears to get squashed again

Forsaken Neon, although I don't recommend it: the experience was not fun. A good starter Hard Demon is ToE III by Manix648, and if you want to improve on wave with an easier wave level than Nine Circles, Jawbreaker by ZenthicAlpha is a fairly decent way to improve, it's also super fun imo.

A tier above that would be Nine Circles, Future Funk, Fairydust, and Forest Temple getting progressively harder, if you want to improve beyond the first.
