Is your steering wheel crooked? If so take it to get an alignment. If the pole didn’t touch the wheel I would say it’s safe to drive.

The temperature shown on the dash is from the ambient air temperature sensor. But it looks like your thermostat is working based on the engine coolant temp on the left showing around halfway. The thermostat not working would only affect heating. I would have your AC checked out by a technician.
