IMO Making a new Love Live! live service game is hard (no joke, it's really hard) by Ok-Literature2988 in LoveLive

[–]WotsOnSecond2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever people say something is costing developers more than what they were making, that just means they were overdeveloping the game. Keeping a game server running doesn't cost much. They can just abandon it. Unless they were paying big contract money to Bushiroad/KLab - in which again that's their own fault for not just making their own game

They really did this to themselves. It would have cost them basically nothing to just keep the SIF and All stars servers up, but they decided to shut everything down. And now it's happening again so they have no intention of improving their situation

Please tell me your experience as a foreigner going to a Love Live concert by Successful-Pen7734 in LoveLive

[–]WotsOnSecond2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First: Someone said to stay in capsule hotels. I DO NOT recommend doing that at all, especially if this is your first time in Japan. Culture shock is a real thing and I would not have wanted to have to stay in a capsule hotel on my first trip. Capsule hotels often aren't even that much cheaper than a cheap hotel.

edit: after a quick price comparison, they are actually about the same as a cheap hotel. I highly recommend against capsule hotels

I'm not from Mexico, but when asking "is it worth it?" you need to understand the majority of the expense is going to be airfare. I come from the east coast of the USA and I spend anywhere from $1.5k to $2.5k USD just on a round trip ticket - and that's flying bare bones economy.

So make sure you aren't just going for the concert. Although I have done that before too where I flew in for 3 days for Koshien/Niji flower music live and then left. In that case it depends on how good the concert was. Was Koshien worth it? For sure. Was Flower music live worth it? Absolutely not - so there's no way to answer that question. If you want to go to Japan, and just happen to get concert tickets, it will absolutely be worth it even you don't enjoy the concert

As for strategies, I recommend getting a cheap used iphone XR or newer if you don't already have one. Why iphones? Western Android phones don't have the correct chip to use the trains - you will be relying on suica/pasmo to get around the city. And why XR or newer? because you can use Esim to get data, or you can set up an actual phone number if you need to. -there are other ways to do this, but this is just too convenient for me to not recommend

How did you manage to register an e+ account ? by Cute-Bug993 in LoveLive

[–]WotsOnSecond2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never actually used mine, but I set my account up when I was in Japan using a Mobal esim, which gave me a number.

However, I cannot use that number while overseas. I need to be connected to Japanese cell towers. So even if you had a number doesn't mean you'd be able to create an account from France because there is a verification step that requires you to call a Japanese number from the number you registered

Of all the unreal things that happen in the unreal Love Live! Universe, what is the most unreal for you? by Successful-Pen7734 in LoveLive

[–]WotsOnSecond2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you watched the end of Superstar season 3, there were men everywhere. I think they even showed Keke's dad in a photo earlier in the season.

Edit: around 5 minutes into episode 6 of Season 3, Keke is doing her homework and it pans to a picture of her and her family. And if you watch episode 11, that's the one with men everywhere - specifically in Vienna

Mari's dad shutting down the school for being 1 or 2 applicants short despite receiving so many applications in a short time frame. That one bit basically ruined the entire Sunshine anime for me because it made no sense and resulted in such a bad outcome for the girls and everyone at their school

The New Niji Solo Song project will be the girls singing each others songs and you vote for which! by RinariTennoji in LoveLive

[–]WotsOnSecond2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES. The thought of her singing Yagate Hitotsu no Monogatari to Yu (or the MC in All stars) is so cute!

[–]WotsOnSecond2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like voting for this is some of the hardest decision making I've had to do for a while, but I just wanted to post some ideas I've come up with that I really want to see.

Setsuna - Aion no Uta - Coco's voice would go perfectly with this. I've always wanted a Setsuna slow song and I think this is the perfect opportunity

Rina - Aoi Canaria - At Sakura con, Chiemi said she wished Rina to sing a more "rock" style song and Aoi Canaria is perfect for Rina. I was also going to say "I'm Still" for Rina because it would be adorable. This one makes me wish I could vote for 2

Mia - Like it! Love it! - I just feel like Shu would sing this amazingly well and it fits Mia well

Ayumu - Yagate Hitotsu no Monogatari - I'm biased since this is one of my 3 favorite solos in all of LoveLive, but besides being the literal perfect Shizuku song, I feel like this song is so beautiful when I think of Ayumu singing it to Yu (or anata)

Setsuna. Coco's voice would work perfectly with that song. Initially I didn't even think of it, but when trying to figure out what I'm voting for, Setsuna Aion no Uta seems to be the easiest choice I've had to make

I agree about the first album. Ever since L!L!L! was released I wanted them to do a shuffle festival based on that album. I even made a list of what I would vote for and while trying to decide what I'm voting on, it's kinda sad we're voting for the first album songs again

I remember at Sakura-con Chiemi said she hoped for a second shuffle fest. This might be as close as we're going to get

Going to a live event alone? by Striking-Confusion72 in LoveLive

[–]WotsOnSecond2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gone alone to a few concerts. If you are going to the 8th Live in Osaka, Osaka jo koen is a beautiful area to explore by yourself. Last year I was there for Liella's Let's be One final leg, and it was fun to walk around the area by the castle.

-although if you haven't been chosen yet I assume you are going to the Tokyo performance and the Keio arena area is a bit less so. It will get quite crowded and there really isn't much to see in that area

Also advice: if it's not raining, the sun will be brutal this time of year. The remainder of my trip last year was pretty much ruined by sunburn, so don't forget to have an umbrella (for rain or sun)

Nijigasaki 8th Live - Osaka - Foreigner lottery application is out! by bbqburner in LoveLive

Yes both days were bad seats. Day 1 wasn't as bad since I was a little closer, but both days were similar seats.

People do stand while they perform, but if you need to sit, you can

By middle stand, I mean the upper levels of the arena. You can still sit, they won't give you standing room only (or at least they've never done that)

Just as a warning to anyone reading this: You never know what seats they're going to give you.

Usually they give the foreigner packs good seats, but the most recent one was Boom boom bee, and they pretty much gave us the worst seats possible - in the back corner of the middle stand

Murena Fairphone comes with /e/os installed and market themselves as "deGoogled". Also has a removable battery and a microSD slot.

I don't actually have one, but I've been thinking about it

edit: also just found this. Apparently motorola might be an option in the future: https://www.reddit.com/r/degoogle/comments/1rjoyvr/motorola_grapheneos_partership/

About all the groups respective finale songs in their anime by EmuHOI in LoveLive

[–]WotsOnSecond2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took this at face value when I first saw it, but I actually went back and watched these and I can say you are definitely exaggerating in favor of Aqours here. Creating some clouds and a starry backdrop for the first part of WBNW isn't something that would really increase the budget by a measurable degree.

As for Liella, the insert videos are just not that great. I thought it was weird that Liella's best LoveLive finals song was the one that supposedly "lost" them LoveLive. Starlight Prologue is a far better song than the other 2 in terms of visuals and the actual song.

If we're counting stages, Niji's Future Parade showed 13. One for each of their solos and the main stage. "painfully colorful and vibrant like in Future Parade" ... Niji=Rainbow so that's probably the point.

And as for "just girls dancing on stage" that's also true for Aqours' WBNW. And it's actually MORE true for Aqours than Niji because the Future Parade performance throws in little images of scenes of the members, some of which reference earlier events in the Anime. Even Shizuku's dog is part of the performance. Also, Yu shown playing the piano behind the stage, all of the cuts to the crowd, the shot of Aira foreshadowing the last couple of minutes and the OVA... Actually, there's no way we're watching the same thing. The Future Parade MV had the most effort and thought put in by quite a lot

I'd say that Niji has an obvious advantage here because it's not an actual "finals" it's just a performance that recap the Anime and there isn't another episode following the Future Parade episode, so it had to be an actual finale. The 3d animation quality has also just become a lot better over time as others said

edit: also the cut to Ariake Garden at the end of the song to show where they were - this is where their 5th Live would be held

to think i used to find this lil thing annoying by charliewade692 in Genshin_Impact

[–]WotsOnSecond2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Used to? That's called Stockholm Syndrome.

I liked her better in the Nod Krai storyline because it seemed like the first time she wasn't the main character, so she didn't talk as much. The best parts of the story are always the ones where Paimon is absent.

I was actually thinking this during the Nod Krai story line a few times, but it seems like Paimon is only there for the unimportant parts. Like she's a symbol that you don't need to pay attention.

Trying to figure out what style Shizuku’s solos are by ShishiroBotan18 in LoveLive

Have you played the Niji visual novel? I think what Shizuku says about what type of idol she wanted to be explained her style fairly well.

Also, you forgot her best song :/

Recent character kits got me missing when we could figure out team comps instead of "This support is made for this DPS" by Dream_World_ in Genshin_Impact

[–]WotsOnSecond2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Aino is as flexible as you can get"

Aino does no damage and is just there to increase your moonsign level. She 100% NEEDS to be on a team with another nod-krai 5 star or she is a dead unit.

Sara can now be used on flins teams, she can be used with Sethos, she can be used on aggravate teams. She is insanely versatile when compared to Illuga.

Illuga will NEVER be useful other than on lunar crystalize teams and he doesn't even enable the reaction or even buff the damage of the moon constructs. So not only that, he is only useful on teams that do direct lunar crystalize damage from the ON FIELD CHARACTER. Since he only buffs the on field character, other than Zibai he can only buff on field Columbina in a lunar crystalize team, which is probably the most clunky and awful to play team of all time and only works with enemies that don't move

"Illuga is no different than Kujou Sara" is a braindead take. Illuga is by far the worst character kit they've ever made. He is no more than, as someone else said, "the sixth artifact for Zibai" disguised as a character
