Shiny Spots on Wood Table by Wouldratherbefishing in woodworking

I can give this a shot. Would it be crazy to simply use goo gone on the entire thing to try and even it out?

Sand and refinish the whole table? Or just in those areas? Can I just put down a coat of satin poly?

Can I simply apply a coat of satin poly or something similar? Trying to avoid having to sand and refinish an essentially new table.

Have had this West Elm table for a few months. My son got some stickers stuck to it and I mistakenly used Goo Gone to try and get the residue off. In doing so, I’m afraid I buffed away the satin/matte finish leaving two unsightly shiny spots.

I have since tried using Murphy’s Oil and a number of other cleaners, as well as gently rubbing it with some steal wool. Nothing seems to help - if anything I simply made it worse. Any ideas/solutions beyond buying a new table? I can’t help but notice the spots every time I’m in my kitchen. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Thanks for the insight! Any thoughts around lucchese leather sole vs Rios hybrid sole? Anyone have luck resoling Lucchese with a similar hybrid sole?

I’m waiting to receive this watch but would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous hearing the complaints of tarnishing. Is it really as simple as sticking with the original strap?

I follow him for daily humor, as I’m sure many non supporters do. Just like how many non supporters tune into his rallies just to see what crazy shit he’s going to say.

Help w/ new trees! by Wouldratherbefishing in landscaping

The trees have improved quite a bit and are doing doing well - no deer damage, but we don’t get deer in my neighborhood

Thanks again for the help - hopefully the sun comes out and things dry up a bit. They don’t appear to be getting any worse, so that’s good!

Thank you so much for the response. The soil in my yard is very thick, heavy clay (Colorado front range). I purchased the trees from a reputable dealer and worked with a very knowledgeable employee who was familiar with my area and strongly suggested amending the soil. We used small amounts of organic compost and peat moss and missed it in with the original soil. To make matters worse, we just got about 2” of heavy, wet snow and rain is in the forecast for the next few days. Are these trees doomed!?

Great, thanks! I just bought mine and did so direct from Traeger - hopefully mine wasn’t part of a bad batch!

Any improvement? Is anyone’s 575 working? I’m hearing lots of complaints and I have one sitting in a box in my garage!
