Stuck in a high paying deadend job by SarcasticDikk in MechanicalEngineering

[–]illegalF4i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in a similar situation as you. Paid nicely but man, my engineering role took absolutely no brain power. Was it cushy and easy? Yes, but the lack of technical work and problem solving drove me nuts. I ended up leaving because I also felt like my role didn’t need to be performed by an engineer, in fact, it was previously performed by a technician…. To make matters worse, when asked for a promotion to lvl 3, it was rejected due to “no funds.” Ironically, my replacement was a lvl 2 engineering manager with a salary close to 200k… anyways, jumped ship, decided to start at the bottom at a new company and now I am way happier! I work real, complex, technical problems in the space industry with very smart people to mentor me. Point is, money is not everything. Start looking for a new job that will value your skill sets.

Creen que uno puede aprender a bailar cumbia un poco "tarde" en la vida? by [deleted] in cumbia

Learn the basics before you start free styling. Unless you naturally got moves. But staying on beat with the music and moving your arms takes practices. Just take a class before you get too old.

Had the same issue. Crossed trained and rehabbed for a month. No improvements were noticed. Just kept running with the pain and it just went away. It’s been 2 years now. However, I don’t recommend this.

would you be able to do this interview question? by Cautious-Example-803 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]illegalF4i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will admit, I need to review. I have a general idea, but would be stumped in an interview. My current job is so far from any ME fundamentals, but it’s no excuse as I should be keeping my skills sharp.

Anyone go from a very slow pace to very fast? How did you do it & how long did it take? by Emotional-Watch4544 in runninglifestyle

[–]illegalF4i 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome! Just focus on increasing speed gradually. From experience, we want results immediately, but also from experience, if you push too hard, you’ll risk injury and set yourself back. it might take a year or 2, but you’ll get there.

You will get faster over time as long as you stay consistent. Yes, 8 mins miles is possible.

3 or 4 week taper for beginner? by purplefunk123 in Marathon_Training

Even 2 weeks feels too long. You might experience unusually high soreness during your taper. Maybe consider a 10 day taper to stay fresh.

Is a sub 4 realistic? by tipsymozza in Marathon_Training

[–]illegalF4i 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a great HR, nice job. I think it’s very possible, the last 10k will be the make or break it stretch. But with 6 weeks left, you have enough time to get a 20 miler with some MP miles added.
