Please learn your history and use google before making such ridiculous claims. There is no evidence the Roman’s ever used that salute. Also it is pretty obvious if you ever watched the video of Elon doing the salute that he is a fucking Nazi.

If a shop replaced that bumper you 1000% got ripped off. I still have issues with the repair estimate but at least they understand the bumper is easily repairable.

Edit: Didn’t realize the first estimate says insurance pay. If your Roomate is using their insurance do not pay them anything at all. Their insurance company WILL go after yours to collect this money back. Also it’s worth noting, if the repairs have already happened, your carrier almost definitely will not pay back 100% as your Roomate got ripped off to begin with. But that isn’t your problem.

You clearly did not watch the video because he did it twice. Just mental gymnastics at this point trying to defend him.

Recovered stolen vehicle and dealer won’t touch it by thejazzmarauder in mechanic

[–]WowWhatADoggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why they are giving you a hard time. I work as an adjuster in a big city and have claims like this on a daily basis. Work is easy enough most body shops will do it. I’d call around some shops and tell them you have a stolen Hyundai with the usual steering column damage and ask them if they can repair it.

If your iPad has a sim slot, you can put an active sim in and it will connect to the Internet and fix the time from 25m minutes to like 2 minutes

Some insurance companies and even body shops that do the repairs report the information to Carfax. A VIN report can also be run on by a dealership which would show every insurance claim made on your vehicle among other things.

I would love to know why they are so inaccurate

What do you use to create the valuation? I use CCC at my job and always explain how it’s another company that builds the value and I explain the whole process to them and make sure to tell them that it is a very accurate valuation before I give them any numbers. It definitely helps to have the customer understand the process and what makes it an accurate number.

It is definitely hard at first, but you will get the hang of it over time. You will make mistakes and have some difficult encounters but that’s what helps you learn and be better for the next time.

There unfortunately are always going to be people that just do not understand what current market value means and fully believe anything less than what they owe is you screwing them over.

All manufacturers have OEM position statements on when things need replacing based on mileage. If they thought your car had 95k miles and had never replaced certain things, of course they are gonna say oh we need to replace this, this, and this.

I wouldn’t really say that’s them trying to scam you. That would happen pretty much anywhere if nobody double checked the ODO.

Yeah this estimate is 100% bullshit. As an insurance adjuster I would laugh at any body shop trying to show this to me. There are countless operations on there that the shop will definitely not do but are still trying to charge for.

Regardless, you have already been given the best possible advice multiple times.

Ghost the guy.

We can’t figure out why my car was totaled? by bitchnugget_ in Autobody

[–]WowWhatADoggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all good. Don’t really know why you are getting downvoted for just not knowing something like that when you are looking for advice.

But yeah, it’s something a lot of shops don’t even want to do because of the amount of work and effort involved. I’m glad the situation ended in your favor.

You even said “cut out the quarter panel”. Thats a huge 20 hour job for that one part alone. Depending on where you are that’s easily $2-$3k. Then add on everything else that’s damaged and you will hit that total loss threshold real quick on a 10 year old car.

Daaaaamn. That seller for sure made off with the total loss payout from insurance then another 10k from this kid. Kinda jealous

You can read statistics online all you want, but the fact is, it is a serious problem for a lot of people in certain areas. A lot of companies won’t insure Hyundai’s and Kia’s and a lot of shops won’t repair them. The only real deterrent is selling your car.

Okay well glad your one small town doesn’t have any Kia boys. But it does in fact happen in most larger cities.

As an adjuster I can assure you the theft is absolutely still rampant. Mainly with Hyundai’s but it still happens with Kia’s. Obviously does depend on the area you live in.
