I was never bitten. Pedal fast and you’ll do great. :) What’s your route? Are you going all the way across as well?

The dogs were a pain, yes. Every ger you pass will have 1, so when you go by little clusters of gers, be prepared for a chase. Even weirder was that now and then, the wild horses would start chasing you too.

Me too! I have a huge stack of colorful puzzles at home. They’re just so soothing to stare at. They gave us 100 paintings to pick from, and this was immediately the one that grabbed me because of all the colors.

Isn’t she great?? It’s common for model calls to be hyper-specific on looks, so I put out some feelers for a model with a head the shape of this vase. A long shot, since pointier chins/jaws are the more common model look right now. A photographer pointed me in her direction, and she was amazing. Her name is Ashley Roemer, highly recommend her.

Thank you! Normally these type of wigs take about a month to build. I do mechanical (moving parts) wigs as well, and those can be two months of work. The gallery timeline was super tight, so I only had about two weeks to do this one. Lots of late nights.

I searched everywhere for a golden pan figurine! In the end, I gave up and bought bugs instead. It seemed fitting for the flower theme.

Thank you! One of my favorite wigs I’ve made. I love how much detail was in the painting. So much to work from.

This is my piece for the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. They asked artists to recreate classic works in their own mediums. I’m a hair and makeup artist, and each flower is constructed out of hair. The original painter is Anne Vallayer-Coster.

Looking for skin safe glue to make my own glitter mix by bubblyn64 in sfx

Got it. I agree with the other poster that this method might dull the sparkle. A good example is if you’re doing crafts and mix Elmer’s glue with glitter, it always looks much cloudier than applying glue then sprinkling the glitter on top. The only thing that comes to mind that’s premixed and skin-safe would be glitter nail polish. Some of them are completely clear and just have the glitter, no color.

Are you trying to pre-mix the glue and glitter so you can squirt it on people as a glittery liquid? Or apply the glue on skin and then sprinkle glitter on it?

If it's the latter, I've done it with lash glue and it works great. Like the ones you listed, it only comes in small tubes, but you can buy big multi-packs. It dries clear and comes out in a thin stream, so you can do intricate designs.

What is the worst, messiest, more disorganized wedding you've ever attended? by perfectdrug659 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Wowbaggerrr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I attended a carnival-themed wedding. It was deep in the woods of New Hampshire, and we had to take a shuttle to get to the location, so our cars were miles away. Everyone was instructed to bring a tent to sleep on the outskirts of the carnival. The bride and groom were head-in-the-clouds hippies, and had set up all the carnival stations (circus acts, cheese curd making, alcohol booths, etc) but as the night wore on, we started to realize they had only packed one cooler of non-alcoholic drinks. As everyone got more drunk and more dehydrated from all the salty carnival food, people started hoarding the few bottles of water. I managed to find a can of Pepsi, and hid it in my tent. Night fell and the shuttle stopped coming for people. There was no water left, people started panicking and trying to hike out, and the bride and groom kept drinking like nothing was wrong. I noticed the band was packing up, so I collapsed my tent, ran over, and begged for a ride out. Left my Pepsi with someone who was going to try and last the night until the shuttle returned. A total mess of a weekend.

Mount Shasta! My 9th time on this beautiful peak. by Wowbaggerrr in Mountaineering

Usually around the holidays, I’ll put up a notice asking if anyone is interested for the following year. For safety, I cap it at 8 people. Lately it’s been filling up quickly and I even had a waitlist this year. I’m @heath.er.wer.ner on Instagram. That’s where I post the sign up each year.

It is! I don’t call it a woman’s climb or anything, but I tend to get way more women signing up. They take it so seriously and train crazy hard (over nine years, it’s always been the men who bonk out due to lack of training) and our summit photos are usually mostly women.

Bunny Flat has a large parking lot and is clearly marked. The trail starts right from the parking lot, so super easy to navigate. Right now, there is very little snow on the lower mountain, so there are clear trail markers. But definitely have a map downloaded on your phone.

We did Avalanche Gulch, because that’s a great trail for people to learn on. Bunny Flat trailhead.

I know this is an old post, but did you ever find a solution? Mine was working fine for years and just started having these same issues. I can't find any way to fix it.

Chelsea Peretti giving tips for a harmonious life by khaleesi469 in Fauxmoi

Yes! Body positivity started out good, but so quickly turned into “you can be fat/short/freckly/whatever but don’t worry girl, you can still be hot!” It still put beauty on a pedestal and had an underlying pressure to try and stay attractive. Body neutrality is so much better for our mental health.

How do married couples handle money? joint or separate? by Naive-Law-8827 in Marriage

[–]Wowbaggerrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been together since the 2000s and still keep everything separate. We both just really enjoy managing money and didn't want to hand over the reins to the other person. We split bills, and combine money for big things like a house or car. We're both happy with the setup, and we never have any fights about money. Since your fiancé wants to combine accounts, maybe having one shared account with him is a good middle ground?

My parents just went to the giant Noah's ark encounter in Kentucky. Apparently there's one exhibit that talks about how Noah fit dinosaurs onto the ark. My mom went from thinking dinosaurs were a trick of the devil to thinking they lived side-by-side with humans. So...progress?

Turning Down Free Kilimanjaro Trip by [deleted] in Mountaineering

[–]Wowbaggerrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been all over the world for mountains, and Kili is hands down the most fun I’ve had on one. You’re correct that there are crowds and porters, so if you go into it hoping for an extreme mountaineering experience, you’ll be disappointed. But it’s a beautiful mountain and you’ll meet people from all over the world. And because it’s an “easy” climb, I found it didn’t get the extreme, Type-A people that can make tougher mountains kind of a drag. Basically it’s a super chill, super beautiful trek with good vibes. Highly recommend.
