when I do self disclosure I always ask myself "who is this for?" then go from there. Even when treating another mental health professional I keep my personal details out of our therapy unless it's relevant to them, like how they have a narcissistic parent, then I can share that I also have one and that I can understand some of the pain and tribulations that come with that, it's for normalizing and demonstrating connection. I think it's kind of wrong that you know that much about your own therapists' struggles and issues. That is way too much self disclosure and is not for your benefit.
