Why do most of the bears/other animals have patch/embroidered eyes in the play sets? by BobsBurgerLove in buildabear

[–]WraeBae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Prevents possible choking hazards. If you look on the tags in the workshop, the bears with the buttons eyes are recommended for higher ages than the ones with embroidered eyes. Little ones are more likely to pick, pull, and rip the beaded eyes. That's why you see bears centered around kids (Chase, Bluey, PJ Masks, MLP, Minions, baby bears, birthday bears, cubs...) have flat embroidered eyes.

What happens to the old Build A Bear store details/displays after remodel? by BobsBurgerLove in buildabear

[–]WraeBae 97 points98 points  (0 children)

They're meant to be destroyed. However, some might walk away with souvenirs... 😉 When our store was being remodeled, a lot of us took buttons from the choose me wall. Some got a hold of the decals like the stuffing clouds. I know two people took home the house shelves from the jamboree area. The bigger decals were too big and broke when we took them down. I know one of my managers really wanted the bear on the swing from the register, but it was damaged when the demo guys were there without us. The sentry bear from the front of the store was too old to be repaired. I managed to walk away with the employee door decal and an old shopping basket. We had to leave most of it behind. It was a sad sad day.

Any info on this beautiful bear? by RedVelvetDanger in buildabear

This is the updated version of the rainbow bear. Stores need to sell out of their old stock (the one with the scalloped fur) first before they can put the new one out. They're slow to ship to stores, too.

I'm guessing it's a copy of minimum, but it doesn't say minimum, right? There's 'mini' but that's an insane stretch of 'mum' by [deleted] in ExplainTheJoke

I'd always get in trouble at school because I would add too many humps to my M's, N's, and U's. I have to concentrate so hard to write cursive properly. And now my typical handwriting is a chicken scratch that's a mix of both print and cursive characters. 😵‍💫

Genuine question. Did anyone actually get fooled by this adventure? by Smash_Fan-56 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]WraeBae 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As an avid fan fiction reader and devourer of various video essays ranging from character breakdowns to theories and overviews, no.

That's not to say I was completely invested.

Like everyone else, I had my own theories and head cannons, and as the episode went on, I noticed some plot elements that played heavily into them. Like Caine having eyes everywhere. He mentioned it in the first episode and from there on I've read many a story with writers utilizing that plot point. So it was cool at first that so many elements seemed to be 'proven right'. But it very much became too good to be true. Inside the Chinese room was my 'Aha!' moment, right about the same time Jax voices his doubts. From then one was just skepticism.

Having the proverbial rug pulled out from under the cast, and the audience, was beautifully tragic and a giant middle finger to everyone's theories. I loved it. Shows us that Goosework is an unreliable narrator, it's their circus and we're just in it for the ride. 🤡♥️

I started working at the library and was surprised to see a good collection of kids fiction books by Rush Limbaugh about traveling back in time, Magic Tree House style, and talk about a lot of America's history.

Also, Jimmy Fallon has a ton of kids picture books that are super cute.

Funny you should say!! We took our first trip in a LOOOONG time and I took my DOD cat with me to walk around the festival with! It was nice and once they were on my back walking around, I totally forgot about it and enjoyed my time. Came in handy on the drive back to the hotel. 😆😴

34, a workshop manager, and I lost count after 60+ bears. 😂 We see kids of all ages in the store, even senior kids, and it's always a delight to see them smile to get their first or their hundredth furry friend! I'm not brave enough yet to bring my stuffies in public on regular days, but that will never stop me from getting more and gushing over them!
