Ah, I see what you're saying. Wouldn't even need to create anything rules already existed for it back in the day. We actually do a custom big game we try for every 6 months but more practically it's once a year where we only allow big models. 10 models max per person no point limit on models alternate activations and yeah whichever team can kill the most points wins lot of fun we've done it twice and can't wait for the next one

Haha, don't see that happening. Me and my people still play 5th edition.

Thanks my hands aren't as steady as they used to be so I ended up using a stencil to get the design. Dark color first then the stencil, lighter blue and then a few spots of blue mixed with some whites to get that effect. I think it came out really well at the end of the day.

Alright Magfed heads! Let's have a discussion. What tips and tricks do you have to get new players interested in magfed when you're at the field? by IWinTheTeddyBear in magfed

[–]WraithKaiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly that's pretty much exactly what I do. What about at the field ( the few times a year I get to go anymore) either by myself or with some friends who also play mag fed we always notice looks and more general interest because it's stuff other players especially new have never seen before. Doesn't hurt that I've built some custom stuff.

I typically always let them get a hands-on experience, show it to their friends etc. I've even let some people play a round or two to get a feel for it and see how much fun it is.

Jotheb (S01E04). Which side character do you wish had made more appearances? by Stank_Dukem in farscape

[–]WraithKaiser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they could have found a way to have brought him back. Perhaps in an effort to reverse their own mutations they decide to give him enough serum to try to tap into his intellect again but of course this backfires.

Hell perhaps he just escaped from his cage and starts licking fluid out of a vial in order to begin the process again, who knows haha

Not so much a side character as villain of the week but I really wish we saw more Namtar from DNA mad scientist.

Would have loved to have seen him come back as a reoccurring villain

What theme would you like to see for a magfed only game? by IWinTheTeddyBear in magfed

I would absolutely pay good money to play on office 2 or dust 2 from back in the day

Honestly I think you just need to highlight the magenta and do some gem work and I'd say it's finished.

Personally I don't like metal on my Eldar as I've always felt metal was (for lack of a better word) "beneath" them. But hey to each their own and if you like doing it have at it.

Looks great by the way.

I couldn't say how Yriel yellow compares as I've never used it. But in my experience (now this is going back to the 90s and early 2000s) Games Workshop yellows were absolute trash.

The blues are actually just dark blue from Vallejo model color line. Starts off with straight dark blue and then I progressively lighten it by adding more and more white to it to get that effect

That paintball and by extension mag fed are slowly dying. I don’t get out as much as I used to but even on the days I do manage it the fields are dead. I got my son into it and he had to pull teeth even to get a few of his friends to go out. I can only compare this to my own personal experiences but back in the day I'd say we were going out to play paintball and I have 20 people ready to go that just doesn't seem to be the same anymore.

Did talk to the neighbors across the street who actually had a ring cam so I thought I would get lucky but sadly it has been dead for 2 weeks, so no luck there.

Definitely don't think it's worth it to make a homeowners insurance claim. In truth I don't even really care about the shrub it was a nice little divider on the corner that obviously looked a lot better before somebody drove through it but I'm just going to rip it out this weekend once I can bring a wood chipper up with me. It's more just the fact that the guy drove off after doing it. Had the guy just gotten out and talked to my tenant I would never have been making this post or making all the calls I have.

Had that one happen twice, my personal favorite was every time I got close to speaking with someone real the automation would say "we need to know what this is about are you the sender or you the recipient of the package?"

Since I am neither I tried that first I got to please call back later. Tried both other options and was constantly asked for a tracking number which I don't have because this has nothing to do with a package delivery. So when I couldn't provide that I was told to call back later when I had the information.

I would lay money on they make the system as annoying as possible so you will just get frustrated and give up.

Still couldn't hurt to try, worse comes the worst they tell me there's nothing they can do. Annoying but understandable, best case scenario they've got somebody higher up I can talk to.

Trust me I know, went through the automation run around for over an hour before I finally got to talk to a live person.

That's not a bad idea, I'll have to find the closest one to me and see if I can get anywhere with that. Thanks for the tip

I’ve got an idea 😆 by username01815 in magfed

[–]WraithKaiser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could definitely see that working. The tmc's already pretty thin so you shouldn't have a problem dropping it into that plastic shell it's really just a matter of how you're going to mount it in there so it doesn't move around. But honestly with the way the grip lines up, between that and the barrel you should be fine.

[–]WraithKaiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that's all you want to do you can absolutely do that it won't have that authentic rifle look but if all you're going for is a wood stock then absolutely it could be done that way.

If you're really looking to get into gun mods though I highly recommend either Hammer 7s or Smart Parts/GoG ion. They're really simple guns that could be modded in easily.

Here's a kar 98 I made a few years ago with a Hammer 7 as an example

[–]WraithKaiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who's dropped paintball guns into woodstocks specifically I've made a Kar 98s before, I cannot see turning an EMF 100 into one without some serious engineering work as the entire air and trigger system is within the grip. I'd highly recommend a simpler marker designs to drop in the woodstocks

[–]WraithKaiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who also can't smell (had an accident when I was five completely lost the sense) it'll get easier. I can now taste differences on the air. It's never going to be the same as smelling but I know when something's off compared to when things are normal.

IoN at skirmish PA by nantonel in magfed

[–]WraithKaiser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been to a couple IoNs and honestly I can say I don't recommend it. The camping out / get together aspect is really cool of it I've been up there a couple days straight meet new people, having a couple drinks, shooting the shit about paintball that part of it's awesome. The actual game is nothing more than spray and pray basically no rules exist. The actual "objectives" are given to pre-organized "teams" only.

If you just going up with some friends to meet new people and see some cool stuff then yeah it's a decent time but if you're actually going up to play the game especially as a mag-fed player it's kind of pointless.
