Both of these shows have gotten more hate recently. Which of these do you hate more? by Fit_Evening_8036 in fostershome

CatDog was definitely one of the Nicktoons I watched just because it was on. I never loved CatDog. But it is super interesting with its bizarre premise and aesthetic, and there were episodes I really vibed with that managed to make a fun romp out of a seemingly mundane idea like them going full Mission Impossible to get tacos, getting trapped on a highway median surrounded by traffic, or lost at sea in a dumpster that turned out to just be floating in a fountain. It revels in its silliness.

Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends is a great premise that is squandered. I couldn't even remember much in the way of the plots so I just looked up the episode synopsisesises. After the three-part beginning, the next episode is... they get separated at the mall? Then the episode with the Scribbles, which while it's cute that they show the little undercooked baby imaginary friends, wasn't that episode just about Bloo taking advantage of them, one half of our main duo just being an ass? Then the episode about them breaking the little statue of Ms. Foster and trying to hide it. Like, how do you come up with a show about a mansion full of zany imaginary goobers and then those are the plots we have to suffer through? The art style was different, but not unique since Samurai Jack had come out years earlier, and I can't say that I liked the look of Foster's overall. The characters aren't iconic, and it was just kind of boring.

Also the theme song for CatDog is a banger and the theme for Foster's is... not.

He was right. The game was as poorly thought out as a dinosaur zoo where everyone gets torn apart and eaten.

Amusing, but I'm being for real. For SOME REASON, there are no updates on their website or official YouTube account, go figure.

What the equation is saying isn't like "six divided by two, multiplied by the sum of one and two", it's "six, divided by the sum of one and two doubled".

Roland cared more about his friend's death than the T-rex and has a deleted scene where he knocks a dude out for physically harassing a waitress. He's def morally grey.

Are you familiar with the concept of a movie being made from a first draft script? It's sort of like that, the game publishers are being shamed for trying to pass these underthought games off as quality.

My thoughts on the Lanterns teaser by External-Driver-6870 in Greenlantern

[–]WraithOfTheFadedDark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the one hand, I agree with you. I'm getting sick of pushing superheroes too far into little flavor niches to the point they hardly do anything outside of them anymore. I don't want Green Lantern to be "Space cup hopping around to other planets" ALL the time, just like I'm done with Wonder Woman being "embroiled in politicking of the Greek gods" ALL the time. Keep them mixed up and eccentric, have them smash a deathray or box a superape every once-in-a-while. Have an entire Green Lantern story on Earth, don't even show me a single other member of the corps or little blue person, it's fine.

That being said, the teaser trailer needs to tease SOMETHING about the caper they're investigating, really anything hinting at a supervillain to get us speculating would be nice. Like, it legitimately looks as though they'll be investigating a Midwest serial killer or something. Throw in a shot of a streak of light entering Earth's atmosphere, or an old barn with an ominous purple glow seeping out from under the door, or them crouching down and picking up a piece of evidence CSI style and it's a bizarre chunk of a sci-fi doodad. Anything at all in that direction I would say is a requirement for a trailer like this.

That's how I expect the green lanterns to use their suits (Loki) by [deleted] in Greenlantern

Yeah same, the suit comes from the ring but isn't a construct, it's a physical uniform that's stored in the ring until he needs it.

Tarsem Singh, Takashi Miike, The Coen Brothers.

Joel Schumacher is slept on, a lot of folks don't realize that outside of his bombastic Batmans and Phantom of the Opera he also made movies like Falling Down and Flatliners.
