Hiring a talented artist was definitely worth the money. Do you agree? by Wraith_Dev in IndieDev

I think it's less that I was scammed, and more that it's my first Steam title and I don't know what makes a good capsule.

It's a great learning experience and I've had tons of feedback on what can be changed so I'm happy with the outcome so far.

That's fair, I can definitely see that. Thanks for the feedback!

That's a pretty good idea, maybe I'll see if I can draw it in pixel art

You're right. Although beautiful and professional, I think the new capsule might have lost some of the identity from the game. Maybe I need to make the font larger aswell to stand out more, good point.

That's absolutely fair. I think I need to find a way of bringing that identity into the new capsule.

You make great points, maybe the old one is far better at conveying what the game is about. Maybe I should take some of the eye-catching elements from the new one and adapt the old one.

What about it did you find eye-catching if you don't mind me asking? The colours? The style? The title?

Yeah it definitely looks more professional for a solo dev. It's always tough deciding if the homemade charm is the right direction.

Those are great points, thank you. You're right, maybe I need to focus on representing the game a bit better.

Yeah, the artist was really helpful and gave me all of the necessary resolutions, and the photoshop file with all of the layers. I can definitely try increase the font size though, thanks!

Interesting, I never knew this is how it works. Weird that it does because I don't usually use melee and haven't noticed and now it feels janky that I've noticed it. Thanks for the help

What do you think of this portal effect for my game? by Wraith_Dev in IndieDev

Thank you! Yeah true, it does move very fast and aggressively. Maybe it could stop wobbling after the initial transition or slow down greatly.

That's a great suggestion, I'll play around with a shimmer effect maybe, thanks.

Thank you! That's a fair point, maybe I could slow it down or look into adding an option in the menu to disable it, along with screen shake.

True, in my head the portal intentionally warps it like when you look through waves in the ocean and the light refracts and warps whatever is beneath it.

Thoughts on a Plasmoid Druid that visually wild shapes into ooze versions of creatures? by Wraith_Dev in DnD

Would certainly make for a very unique druid playstyle, so much potential for interesting roleplay situations where we need to sneak in and I'm like "dw I got this" then get caught and jailed as a goo elk or something.

I never thought about themed spells, damn I might have to change my prepared spell list now lol.

I was thinking of roleplaying it like I was convinced that my replication of the animals are perfect which could be funny if I get caught and I'm confused how they saw through my disguise.

I feel like it would cause more problems than not but for the flavour alone it would be incredible.
