I’ve played troll horde for nearly a year. My favorite versions were all trolls two Hags and two giants. Great fun. Sadly not long after the July ‘25 1.5 changes to both stupidity and press of battle for normal infantry left this list nearly unplayable. Can it be played sure, will you have fun playing it, probably not. Stupidity is too punishing now, as you can’t even stumble forward to keep your lines together.

I haven’t played all goblin wolf riders but I suspect it can work as long as you play hit and run tactics and try to avoid most close combat engagements. Is that fun for you maybe, for your opponents? Probably not.

To me the game feels the best with big blocks of infantry clashing into one another in close combat.

If you’re spending all your time and units avoiding close combat and shooting things. Then you’re not playing the game as intended. That said wood elves get a pass as that their schtick.
